If someone is so emotionally invested in following a sports team where it it is having a negative impact on their daily life, then they should step back and re-evaluate their life priorities. Ultimately, its just another form of entertainment. There are far more important things in life than to drown yourself in a sports team's sorrows, something that is not in your control. Same goes for living vicariously through a sports team success that you follow. But I wasn't even talking about being a fan of a team, which I have respect for, even Sixers fans. Actually, particularly Sixers fans. Instead, I was talking about grown men and fans of a journeyman player that plays for the worst team in the league, parading around across different team forums, in an effort to convince them that their idol is worthy of their love. A billion people know the difference between Yao and Lin. Lin is closer to Yi Jainlian I don't think Lin has that many human fans, however he has lots of chicken fans
Actually Lin is closer to Yao than Yi. Lin and Yao have both played a big role on the teams they played, but Yi never was able to play any big minutes on the teams he played. Of all the players that were Chinese only Yao and Lin are bonafide NBA player. This we can't say about Yi, Wang ZhiZhi and Mengke Bateer. We will see about rocket #2 draft Zhou Qi. So far we need to rejoice as Rocket Fan that Yao and Lin are the only two Chinese NBA player that struck on to be big part of their teams.
There's Yao who doesn't suck and there's Lin and Yi who suck and there's fans of Yi and Lin who make up reasons for why they sucked like coaches, players, fans, racist, Satan, Taiwan

We are talking about Lin and this is the thread about the present so if Yao is included since both impact on the NBA have been coined with Yaomania and Linsanity. Why are you so annoyed and don't recognize the impact of these two Chinese basketball players in the NBA?
You keep saying Lin sucks but this is not true. Why would teams give him millions and play him major minutes if he sucks?
Then why don't you go to some Chinese basketball site and whine about it there. The rest of the world has moved on
