No other team does what you're attempting to justify OKC doing.

No team's big man willingly gives up their rebound to their small men.

An extreme case in point - your very own Houston Rockets who do not let James Harden just grab the rebound 'to start the fast break'

There's approximately twenty players in the NBA who could average a triple double if that was their season goal. They'd win about the same amount of games Westbrook has won. In some cases, like LeBron, a few more, in some cases a few less. But overall about the same amount of wins.

Nobody else has been trying to average a triple double though because you can't win a championship in today's NBA by being a one-man band.

People are just going to see Jordan, Bryant, and Harden on this list and rationalize it all away.

Doesn't matter if I'm impressed, are those whose votes count impressed?

lulz....he's 300 pts away from Kobe. I read that wrong, making it sound like he's close to Kobe. He clarifies in a follow-up tweet to say he's close to surpassing Durant.

Westbrook is a beast plain and simple. He's doing something historic and plays the game with passion. Why does this fanbase hate him so much?

Well summarized. Both should win but unfortunately only one can take it away. More unfortunately we likely have to wait another 2 months to know the results if nothing else happens.

    June.

2 more months of MVP talk. Shyte.

Young Lebron yes, the old Lebron could come close with stats padding but I do not think so at this point.

Harden could but that would get him injured even more. I am pretty sure Kawhi won't and probably cannot get that many assists.

Chris Paul in his prime would have had a double double but he would have to stat pad for rebounds.

That is about it. 2 guys instead of 20.

20 or more could average a double double for sure.

Very simply here, Russ uses over 34 possessions to score the ball. He then also handles the ball enough to generate almost 20 potential assists. That's 55 possessions to get double digit points and assists. There's a good pile of bigs including DeMarcus, Draymond, Blake, Anthony Davis, Kat, Portzingis, Marc Gasol, Durant, and Jokic (just to name a few off the top of my head) that would get you double digit assists if given the ball 55 times a game as the focal point of the offense.

These guys of course would all get double digit rebounds if their teammates blocked out for them and half their rebounds was just the lane opening up for them like the Red Sea opened up for Moses.

And I haven't even gotten to the perimeter guys like Paul George, Kyrie, Lowry, Butler, Hayward, Wall, Bledsoe, Giannis, Dragic, Kawhi, etc. Even a player like Hayward, who right now gets about half Westbrook's possessions to work with, would push the triple double envelope with 55 possessions and Rudy Gobert and Co. blocking out for him.

Not to mention the obvious...LeBron, Harden, Paul, etc.

OKC needs to see how this lottery falls and if it fits right they need to trade the egomaniac Westbrook to the Lakers for a couple high lottery picks and DeAngelo Russell.
