Yup but I also predicted when something is going good with Mike it is going really well except he never got to reach the Finals.

But when things go bad Mike is rarely figuring it out thus ending in losing streaks and bad records mostly.

The thing with Harden is at his worst he can still drag us comfortably to the playoffs 6-8th spot.
If everyone played to their worst.

I've always found it weird how this gets propagated as some sort of truth. No matter which metric you want to use this has basically never been true. Whether you want to go with offensive/defensive ratings or plain ppg/ppg allowed.

The barometer of being a great team has always been, and this is one of those no kidding sort of a thing, scoring a lot more points than your opponent. Teams that tend to score 110-100 are much more likely to win championships than teams that win 93-90. The former has in aggregate performed much, much better than the latter in NBA history.

The Rockets are unlikely to win the championship not because offense don't win championships, it's cause they can't outscore their opponents at a rate commensurate with what championship caliber teams generally do.

But to win championships you have to win games? Going by that logic offense wins championships.

Might be stating the obvious, but you need to have both good offense and good defense to win chips.

Only partially true, but history has shown that you need to be above average on both ends, or extremely elite at one end.

I think extreme elite and average on the other end...... or a tad below average.

I think when I think of the Detroit Pistons. Dayum a bunch of defensive enforcers.

I think we can compare to the 2001 Lakers from the crude stats. 2nd in O and 18th in D (the worst on this chart).

That was the first one of the LA dynasty seasons and they did not clamp down on D the first championship postseason.

And we lack Shaquille O'Neal or Dream in the middle. We have the shooters and Harden Bryant.

We are 2nd in Points Per Game and 26th in Points Allowed in Regular Season.

Rebounding overall is very good but not great and Team Assists has been Top 3 so we are elite in Team Assists and Offense Efficiency.
(Very likely like the late Phoenix Suns)

Latter is the reason we are 3rd seed and not 5th or 6th. We made shots and they were well assisted in most of games.

Sure do, very few of us were ok with it. Heck even Morey, it was reported wanted Vogel.

    Good job Les.

I'm glad Le$ stepped in. Had enough of triple chinned's BS coaching moves which align with his "coaching doesn't matter" philosophy. Right from firing Rick the ruler to hiring one of the most incompetent NBA coach ever in Kevin McFail to extending Milk Hair post Portland humiliation to letting BJ brewerstaff as interim

My concern about D'Antoni was never about getting to the playoffs. It's his history in the playoffs. Hopefully he's learned a thing or 2 since his Suns days.

He's better than I thought he would be or maybe Harden is better than I thought he would be.

But if rockets dont win the championship than mine dantoni sucks and everyone will be all about revisionist history and say they were right about him all along:rolleyes:

Blows my mind how few have admitted they were wrong. WE HAVE ALREADY EXCEEDED THEIR EXPECTATIONS.
