Here's the crazy and weird part. If Harden did this we would be losing a lot more games. He's basically been giving up points to the opposing team to give himself opportunities for more rebounds.

he couldn't care less about defence, for him to get every rebound, he has to give up defending the perimeter

Helps that you will not hear one SINGLE peep from the national media, outside a minute minority, on this, the guy is 50X worse than Harden was the other year on the defensive end. But it doesn't matter, doesn't matter at all. It's god damned pathetic. ESPN circles jerks around this guy.

Gotta say... even tho its the Suns, if the world knows not only did we beat them without 3 starters (including Harden), but did it relatively handily and scored 120+...

My guess is that def helps Westbrook's case.

Def nice to get a W tho, either way. If Harden comes back and we win out, maybe he gets it. I just dont knkw anymore tho, last week hurt his chances badly.

it is what it is at this point...I think that most of the voters have already decided on who they're gonna vote for, all we can do is hope and pray

Did the rockets just steal the MVP from James Harden?

So in that sweet spot where it doesn't help Harden at all, but also doesn't help Westbrook in any possible way in the eyes of the rest of the country, got it.

Even though Harden has hurt his stock dramatically by not sitting out... i think the voters will do the right things and give James Harden the MVP.

he hasn't hurt any stock at all. He has already made his case for MVP. Most voters would have already made their minds up by now

Worst part is if I recall right, Westbrook has one of worst defensive perimeter shooting percentages in the league. Like, out of any player, including centers at contesting perimeter point shots. Clearly he is lurking off on defense to grab boards, I don't like sounding like a complete hater but the way this dude goes about piling up stats is really weak. Russell is the biggest narcissist in the NBA

Not that anyone would care.. how i'd vote...

    1. Harden
    2. Kawhi
    3. Thomas (jeez... to think Sacramento had this dude! Thomas and Boogie would have made a dynamic team)
    4. Westbrook
    5. Wall

Side note, Harden lost whatever hope he had left for MVP last night. Rockets won without him so he has a better team than Westbrook. If only this "rule" applied 2 years ago.

Westbrook has been steady, if not playing better ball recently, while harden has been declining. Westbrook has the upper hand now, and with harden missing a game, it just pads westrbook more. If harden has one more bad game while wesbrook continues to get tripple doubles, i don't think harden will have a chance. Even though id love for him to get it. I'm just being realistic here.

Harden didn't lose anything. The Rockets showed that they're better than the 2nd worst team in the NBA without him. It's not like they beat some playoff team last night, the Suns are on a 12 game losing streak. In no way does that help Westbrook's case, especially since the Thunder have lost 3 of 5 (they really should've lost all 5) and probably won't be able to do better than the 6th seed in the WC while the Rockets are locked in 3rd.

Westbrook is now a favorite or tied for Vegas odds to win MVP.
