Was there MVP talk when we had :

    Steve Francis? No
    Yao? No
McGrady? No (Excluding Tracy McGrady Only Fans, they don't count at all)
    Kevin Martin? No

Let me see, the last time we had MVP talk , we had a MVP

MVP talk is better than first pick of the draft talk

Oh yeah. If it was clear that we werent making the playoffs by mid season then I would just be thinking about lottery odds and draft prospects.

Not fun to know your teams season is a wash.

There was MVP talk with Yao, but nothing serious and I preferred that since in 2008 and 2009 I really think we had a shot at a title since we played defense and there were little distractions, outside of T-mac. The MVP talk this year has annoyed me, but I've enjoyed Harden's and WB's play regardless. There's nothing to gain from Harden winning MVP if we struggle in the play-offs in my opinion. Since it's announced after the season, it has actually no value to me. I want WB to win if, if this times it fires Harden up, but he didn't seem to be taking the next step vs. Curry in 2015 like Dream did against Admiral, so there's really no point in this particular case of Harden. If he wins it, meh, if not, then meh too...

I thought the admiral won it over dream because the Spurs had the better record and dream was injured most of the year
He definitely had a better regular season
Which is what the award is about

Also what you missed out for being so young, is that the 90s Rockets is 100% Rockets TEAM fans, no player only fans ever existed for that team. The NBA marketing machine only marketed the Lakers, Celtics, and superstars who sold products like Jordan. The Rockets got no marketing at all.

The Rockets never got any real visibility til we got Barkley because he was already a popular player who was a good interview and sold popular shoes. Suddenly we were on TV all the time.

    Cool stat:

Westbrook has a .750 record when getting a triple double this year. (30-10)
Harden has a .750 record when getting a triple double this year. (15-5)

Getting triple doubles is a good thing.

Didn't Yao Ming had MVP talk early in the 2006-07 Season before the injury?

Pathetic. Are you really that insecure that you have to post this nonsense just bc McGrady got into the HOF? What are you, still in junior high?

    Just stop.

Don't you get it? Your obsession with McGrady has rendered your opinions impotent on this board. Because if Harden screws up in the playoffs, we'll wonder how long until you turn against him.

Lesson learned: don't obsessively hate. Could come back to bite you in the ass- hard.

Did we make it to the Western Conference Finals with Harden?

    Yes or No.

When was the last time we made it that far?

    Barkley?

To be fair I think there was some MVP talk for T-Mac at the height of the 22-win streak when we briefly had the 1st (or was it 2nd?) seed. But that faded when we started dropping in the standings again.

We would've had MVP talk in 1994 and 95 but ClutchFans didn't exist yet

Hakeem and Horry had a MVP talk as David Robinson was being handed the MVP trophy during the 95 WCF.

No, it's not, it's a veiled attempt to slam T-Mac:

Was there MVP talk when we had :

    Steve Francis? No
    Yao? No
McGrady? No (Excluding Tracy McGrady Only Fans, they don't count at all)
    Kevin Martin? No

You just can't let it go.

There are MANY of us talking about the MVP. You are the ONLY one to bring T-Mac into the conversation.

Tinman's obsession for all things McGrady is like Android 16's obsession for all things Goku (DBZ reference)
