Lol I don't know about that but Tjones did have some solid games early on in NO. I think he gets one more chance somewhere in the NBA.

He seemed too fat and out of shape the little he played.
Anyway the team was rolling and now as soon as Beasley came back they waived him, no reason to keep him anymore. Better waste that roster spot on some kind of guard.

Can someone explain to me why is Terrence Jones not able to stay in the NBA? He always put up decent numbers whenever he played.

    The numbers were hollow.

He gets lost constantly on both sides of the ball, hurting overall team integrity on both ends. You can almost tolerate that if a player has a high motor, but his effort was come and go. He's a really good finisher, he's pretty nimble in traffic, and he's a solid athlete, but there are just far too many deficiencies.

Not a good rebounder, nor does he box out. Medicore at best shooter. Terrible at rotations, and not strong enough to hold his position down low. In the NBA of today, a big man has to be a floor stretcher, or a paint controller defensively and on the boards. He can't stretch the floor, nor can he control a paint. That puts him in a huge hole as a player even before his effort and IQ problems are factored in.

That might be it but New Orleans clearly got rid of him because they got Cousins and AD had the PF position covered.

    He played pretty well there.

At the time, they thought they still had a chance to make the playoffs. If he were playing pretty well, they would have found a spot for him in the rotation. Davis and Cousins don't play all 96 minutes. And he would have made a good backup when one of them missed time.

But they outright released him, as did Milwaukee. When 3 teams trying to win release you, they don't think highly of what you were doing for them.

Terrence Jones is definitely a NBA player. It's kind of odd to me teams keep trading/cutting him. I still remember his 2013-14 season. He was a very consistent starter but his injury in 2014 really set him back. Although I believe he's fully healthy now which is why I'm scratching my head why he can't stick in the league anymore. I'm sure he'll get another chance somewhere. Brooklyn? Sacramento?

Apparently he has off the field issues. His car crash last year before a Rockets game was very shady according to some in the know.

Livingston was a quality player and person from his first day in the NBA. He had an NBA skill set when he entered the league and proved it.

Terrence slid down each of his two years at Kentucky, came to the NBA as an undersized big with no discernable skill set and never developed NBA tools, no matter how much we wanted to, and no matter the monster stat lines he put up playing in the starting line-up with Harden and Howard. We should have traded him at the beginning of 14-15 when we could've gotten a low first rounder for him and reset with the draft pick after he started out looking so good.

But what do I know.....ask dobro. He's the expert on Terrence.

"each of his two years"....How do you slide down as a Freshman? And Anthony Davis joining the team in TJones sophmore year (last year) had something to do with the ppg and rb drop ... don't you think?

I agree TJones has show little to no improvement after his 2nd yr with the Rockets, but your exaggerations are unnecessary....making you no better than dobro from the other side.

He was a top 6 pick coming out of high school. He fell after both seasons at UK.

Didn't have it between the ears, untimely and bizarre injuries (nerve issue in leg and poked in the eye 17 times), and ending up on teams with too many bigs.

I think both teams would be able to actually give him a chance. He played decent for NOP, played his best during Davis's brief time out, but they ended up with too many bigs.
