These trash ass players for OKC are running through the Spurs right now. How is that possible? How did these dudes get to the NBA?
Man, came in here to talk about the game between two likely playoff opponents, and we are still stuck on MVP talk. Do you guys realize we probably will play both of these teams in the playoffs? No one wants to talk about that and how we can beat them or lose to each. I'm so freaking sick of this stuff. You guys are really boring me and disappointing me ... I don't even think y'all are NBA fans much...probably egg ball fans. And I'm serious y'all suck. Thanks for the boring Friday chat about the MVP race. sheesh
OK, enough of the resentments. sorry. I'll just move over to the corner here and talk to myself. Pops playing a Sag, Ice defense vs Westbrook/Adams pnr right now.
Like it or not, this is what it is until the end of the season. Everybody will talk about it. Its the one realistic thing we can get out of this season because lets face it, the odds of winning the title is a lot less than James winning MVP. Its the closest thing to "winning" something since 1995. We are clinging on it all hope. Its kind of sad actually. Its going to be a big deal whether you like talking about it or not.
Probably smart. Let him make jumpers or somebody else beat you on the pass off. Didn't love how we defended him, he got into the lane too consistently and too easily, usually to the center of the court. Luckily we were nailing 3's left and right so it didn't end up mattering, but going over all the screens wasn't really working defensively.
So, I'll put you down as someone in this thread who is not an NBA fan, and doesn't actually want to talk basketball with me about our two likely playoff opponents and how Pops is defending/attacking OKC, and whether Donovan is using the same defense that beat the Spurs last second round. Did you really feel compelled to explain that to me? Like it hasn't been said 99 times on this bbs already and I've read your post like two dozen times. sheesh...leave me alone...I'll stand here in the corner and talk to myself about Pops and Donovan.
Shouldn't be surprising....Donovan destroyed Popovich 3 games in a row last year....with a defense Popovich hadn't seen all year. He got out-coached badly. Watch for how the Thunder/Donovan will not allow the vaunted Hammer Play by the Spurs.
Against the Knicks...Kawhi hit his 500th career 3ptr to end the game. He hasn't made another since. 15 misses in a row.
Just because some want Harden's tremendous play on the court to be accurately and fairly portrayed in the media doesn't make some of us bad fans. We can talk about all the things, hp; humans are complex animals, able to to do many things at once. I personally can't understand how the way the Rockets and Harden are portrayed in the media doesn't sully your enjoyment of the game; it has to be annoying on some level (more annoying than posters on CF). Houston, as a city, has been disrespected for decades; Shaq thinks he's better than Dream; People think the Bulls would have beat Rockets in the finals; Rudy T is not in the Hall of fame; Harden disrespect is just one more thing to add to the pile. /end whine
I am hoping the Spurs win, though. I still have hopes that MEM overtakes OKC. Much prefer them, and for SAS to have to face Donovan/WB in the 1st round again, and WB likely having a chip on his shoulder for losing the 6th seed. It's still possible since MEM has a home game against OKC later, but the must lose tonight. Ibaka played a major role in their weakside defense last playoffs vs Spurs,,,, and Durant's long arms, too. So, don't have much confidence OKC can repeat that defenes, and would be surprised if Pops doesn't make a run second half.
Very sad to hear Nurkic out at least 2 weeks with a right non displaced fibular fracture. Still the 8th seed though.
