Hurting and embarrassing the Trump team? I'd like for them to start getting specific about this instead of these trust-me assertions. At least tell me how the unmasking hurt and embarrassed the Trump team. Since they were hurt and embarrassed in the election which is now over, that much information should not pose any more damage at this point. Journalists get to the bottom of things; they shouldn't be satisfied with vague assertions.

I read the article you linked (haven't watched the video because I'm not in an environment amenable to watching), and I don't feel I've gotten anything more specific. I still don't see anything to assure me the unmasking was inappropriate. Or that it was politically motivated. Or that supplying documents to the intelligence committee was inappropriate. Or that anyone was embarrassed as a result, much less who that would be. Fox needs to dig deeper and give me more than just one anonymous source asserting things. Give me dates, give me names of the unmaskers, corroborate what details do exist with other things we know. There's no detail here and no robustness.

I'm all for investigating it if Congress wants to do that, so long as they don't lose focus on also investigating any possible links between the Trump campaign and Russia's involvement. If Obama did something unethical or illegal, let's air it out in Congress. I'd really like to know. So far, it looks more to me like the intelligence community doing it's best (or perhaps not enough) to thwart a possible conspiracy to corrupt our electoral process, and not really a partisan effort to use the organs of government to tip the scales themselves. If Obama had wanted to do that, I think he could have done a lot more damage to Trump than he did. So let's have it out. Between a Republican president and Republican Congress, there shouldn't be much trouble in producing the paper trail Obama would have left.

Maybe I'm missing something, I read the report you linked. Who is being harmed and how? Were their names released or tagged or were they harassed by the FBI, the JC or the Whitehouse? While I don't agree with nearly any of your assertions, I'm interested in knowing more and both the whitehouse and congress can release this information at any time IIRC.

 

So, in your world, "a reporter cant make this kind of assertion without a credible source" is acceptable to you as long as it's the alt-fact that you want to hear.

There has been about 7 or 8 months of well researched, credibly reported stories that you have conveniently ignored.

 

But they can when it's a news source other than Fox or Breitbart? Not the slightest bit hypocritical, eh?

 

Yes he can - that was decided in the 90s.....journalists used to be held accountable, and fines were levied at TV networks, not anymore.

Did you know that Fox tried to open a Canadian station and was told that if they lied, they would be held financially accountable and they decided not to open up there.
