Honestly, he just didn't mesh with Jokic. They experimented playing them together, that didn't work out, then they sent Jokic to the bench, that didn't work out well either. So they decided to commit to Jokic as their star and traded the disgruntled Nurkic out.

I liked Nurkic's upside at the time, but also got why Denver had to do what they did. I didn't expect Nurkic to blow up like this though.

It's a formality... Rockets advance round one with a game 7 win. We then lose in round 2 in 5. We just dont play defense. We turn over the ball too much on stupid decisions. We lack rebounding. We lack strong leadership. We lack having more than one true elite playmaker on this team. This portland team is fighting for a chance to compete in the playoffs yet we don't have the killer instinct to just beat them... we are struggling after losing to the warriors. But we don't care because we think we can just jack threes and ignore everything else to eventually get hot and win. Stupidity.

His defense is good but not his offense (at least not in Denver)

They couldn't play him much with Jokic

That suggests Motiejunas would thrive if he had better counseling, a healthier back and an even stronger mindset.

Was the Warriors game the beginning of a slump? :(

That was maybe Bev's worst half of the season. Did nothing right.

Our bench has been such a letdown these past few weeks as a whole.

Every time we go to our bench I used to expect the lead to stay or even expand, now I cringe because it seems like our leads minimize or become big deficits.

I think we have too much at guard with Williams, Bev, and Gordon. No size with that lineup and we get owned on the glass and off the perimeter. If they aren't hitting threes, it's a big negative for this team.

Morey should have went harder for Wilson Chandler, PJ Tucker or the like. We have no good back up swingmen since Dekker is trash right now.

We'll tighten up and hold them to 50 in the 2nd half.

Never understood super specific predictions like this. If we don't win the first series in exactly 7 games, and if we lose in the second in anything other than 5 you better eat some crow.

Love Bev but he has been TURRIBLE ! Unfortunately, all the rest of the team is right there with him.

This. Don't forget Dekkers decline as well.
Plus Gordon really works much better off the bench. And they haven't integrated Lou well. He has good games on his own accord but the fit isnt perfect yet.

It's just kind of a lackluster game so far. Rockets aren't effective from three again and Blazers are hot from out there. Rockets are maybe a hair behind on the boards but that's really the only difference in the game -- Portland is making threes and Houston really isn't. 9-point deficit isn't that bad but the Rockets have to get more from Lou Williams and maybe Beverley.

Teams that do well taking away our game around the basket with a big center like Utah and Portland, lead to more contested three pointers instead of wide open ones. I think that's why we're struggling. That and they're shooting lights out as well.
