dude. westbrook is a gun no doubt, but to say he hurts that team is just not true. The thunder would have one of the worst records in the league without him. Instead they are going to be a 45 + win team in the western conference.

Players like Westbrook or last years version of Harden will never win a title with their one man wrecking crew game. Even the GOAT Jordan had Pippen. One man teams will never amount to anything. That is why Hardens new attitude and willingness to be a team player is so exciting this season hence the success this team is having.

Last season fiasco probably turned a lot of potential signings away but I can assure you now, with the addition of MDA the stat stuffer coach and the new version of Harden free agents would love to come here.

The biggest difference between Harden and Westbrook's game is that Harden is more methodical and has more intent when he dishes. Russell's style of assisting is to run blindly into the paint and dump the ball off to the most open man regardless of if he is in a good shooting position.

The other kid got 70 pts on 40 shots. I guess he should be the MVP then.

Prior to the season Las Vegas and the general consensus had OKC right in the middle of the Playoff season and above the Rockets. Now the narrative is they're gonna suck so badly without him? LOL! The Rockets without Harden would be worse than OKC without Westbrick, that's a fact.

Do you forget that Steven Adams destroyed GSW's frontline in the playoffs? Oladipo was so good OKC parted with Ibaka just to get him. Now the OKC team is gonna be one of the worst without Westbrick? LOLOLOLOL! If Westbrick gets injured now OKC will still maintain their record, they will probably be even better because they don't have to do dumb **** like box out like mad just so Westbrick can get his 10+ rebs a night and also they can put somebody on pg who actually tries to guard his man instead of Westbrick who gives up on D so he can get more boards.

Westbrook needs an additional 5 shot attempts per game to score 2 more pts.

Early in the season when OKC beat us in the first matchup, the narrative was that Harden wasn't a leader the same way that Westbrook was and didn't make his teammates better. Since then, Harden and the Rockets have beaten them 3 straight times and have all but secured the 3rd seed in the tough Western conference and the narrative quickly changed from James Harden not being a leader to James Harden having better teammates than Russ.

I'm not a big "media conspiracy" guy as Os Trigonum likes to say. However, I don't like it when the media is inconsistent and they've been very inconsistent when it comes to James Harden this year. Most of them will look extremely hypocritical if they vote Westbrook after they voted Curry over Harden due to team success.

Moot point. He shot over 50% from the field. I'd give him 100 shots if he can shoot over 50%

I don't agree with putting down Westbrook to boost Harden. Westbrook is truly doing phenomenal work. He's just doing it at a time when Harden is even better.

If you look at the tracking stats and compare the ratio of adjusted assists (accounts for 3s and FTs) to potential assists, they are in a dead heat (0.652).

So, from that, I can't conclude Harden's potential assist passes are of higher quality.

Even if Harden does win MVP if the Rockets don't win a Championship people on here will say it was a waste to get that kind of an honor and not be able to lead your team to a ring. Blah, Blah, Blah. Watch, the media is going to get so frustrated between who had a statistically better year they'll just give the MVP to Curry again and say HEY, IT GOES TO THE BEST PLAYER ON THE BEST TEAM. EASY.

We got a lot of salty haters.

I also think harden is a better team player than westbrook. Harden should be the mvp IMO but some people here are doing everything possible to crap on westbrook who is a very good player.

Its stupid to be bitter, salty, and jealous that westbrook gets a lot of attention. Hes not a rocket so who cares.

Focus on harden and the rockets

This is the kind of simplistic reasoning ESPN will use, and it will convince anyone that's never looked at a stat outside of the box score.

What's a "potential assist?" I'm assuming that's a missed shot which would have been an assist if made. Does it also account for 3s?

Also, what's the formula for adjusted assists?
