Fwiw I don't think it said he was conducting business with that bank. There is nothing to prosecute based on what the article said.

True. There is no evidence that I know of to show that he was violating the sanctions. However, I'm not sure why he would be talking with the bank but not doing business. Is he buddies with an assistant and wanted to talk about who was going to be the MVP of the World Series or something?

I think it's worth investigating. If he's not guilty of talking business with the bank, then fine, don't prosecute him. But it should be investigated.

The optics of meeting with a bank under sanctions and a bank known to fund Russian espionage doesn't look good, no?

Russians oligarchs invest heavily in NYC real estate, along with other rich nationals.

Rumors that don't look good considering what Russia has been up to concerning elections domestically and in Eastern Europe.

Russia needs the sanctions to be lifted in order to promote more liquidity as their budget and currency isn't too hot right now.

    Hmmm, interesting...

In the letters, attorney David O'Neil said he understood the Justice Department was invoking “further constraints” on testimony she could provide at a House Intelligence Committee hearing that had been scheduled for Tuesday. He said the department's position was that all actions she took as deputy attorney general were “client confidences” that could not be disclosed without written approval.

The Washington Post first reported the letters. A person familiar with the situation confirmed them as authentic to the Associated Press.

The White House called the Post story “entirely false.”

Rep. Devin Nunes (R-Tulare), chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and part of Trump's transition team, last week announced that the committee was canceling the planned public hearing with Yates and two former Obama administration intelligence officials — the former director of national intelligence, James Clapper, and former CIA Director John Brennan.

"Rumors"? Is it a rumor that James Comey testified last week that the FBI has been investigating Trump's Russia connections since last July?

Yeah because they are trying to get their money out of Russia and into dollar based assets. Sure it deserves a look, but I think the Carl Icahn stuff from a month ago that no one paid attention to deserves more of a look.

LOL. Murdoch and Trump are using the National Enquirer to push their BS. They know their target audience.

America is a very stable place to put your wealth in, whether in our real estate, bonds, or stocks. China is having an issue with keeping their citizens wealth from crossing the Pacific over to our shore.

It just doesn't look good for the Trump administration having all these ties to dictators in Eastern Europe and Turkey, as well as Russian oligarchs who have connections to Putin and espionage.

    What did Carl Ichan do?

The topper, as far as I'm concerned, is that we, the American people, have yet to see Mr. Trump's tax returns. Without seeing Trump's tax returns, we have no idea whether the man is in deep with Russian banks that have close ties to the Russian government and Mr. Putin, the reason for knowing being obvious: could they have a "hold" on Mr. Trump? Again, why the trumped up secrecy about the man's tax returns? What is he hiding?

Yea National Enquirer said that Trump was going to go hard against Obama for the wiretaps and that it would be the Trial of the Century. I've had a few good laughs waiting at the checkout line at HEB.
