We need EG more than we need Lou. Last year's GSW got 73 wins because they were ridiculously consistent. You can depend on EG. But if we need to beat GSW or Spurs, we have to pray someone play out of their mind like Lou did tonight. Which is why I hope Lou can show up more and be more dependable.
I don't doubt he will come strong in the playoffs. He wouldn't have that percentage if he was consistently missing shots. Gordon and Ariza go through streaky times too, but seem to come through when it's clutch time. I have a feeling Lou will do the same.
Lou is great but spent most of the year with the Lakers. He very well could have been awesome here the whole season, but Gordon actually was. Gotta give it to him.
Gotta give it to Gordon. Feel he comes prepared every night. Lou def needs to stay aggressive. Act like he's on La when he comes in. Dude can fill up the points real fast. Either way, so glad to have both. Best 1-2 punch off our bench since ...... ?
Gordon since he's been here the whole season and contributing to the 3rd best record in the league. Lou was feasting on a lottery team but glad to have both of them!
Such disrespect to Gordon. Gordon has been our sixth man since day 1 and now all of a sudden people pick Lou "I played 20 games for us" Williams as sixth man? For what?
I'm a big Eric Gordon fan, but in the 15 games since Lou has been here, he has outperformed Gordon in significantly less minutes.
its kind of crazy that Lou has been still shooting at a higher % than Gordon even with the recent slump he has had. Gordon has been quietly not been playing too well of late either (for his standards - of course not including yesterday's game)
Gordon has been far more consistent than Lou has been. Lou has had a handful of big games that upped his averages with the Rockets. When he's been bad, hes been really bad.
Lou is such a calm playmaker. He literally looks like he's drifting while he's driving in or shooting a 3. SO MUCH FINESSE. Can't believe this dude is in his 12th year, YES 12TH FUUUKING YEAR and we got him for cheap and he's playing this well! Praying to every ****ing basketball god that we surprise the world and win that trophy this year. So many awards this year. Harden MVP, Dantoni COTY, Gordon/Lou 6MOTY, Morey GM of the year... Capela/Dekker MIP... This is Hardens chance to not **** up in the playoffs. PLEASE HARDEN. Be crazy. Don't give up. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk I'm so hyped. I shouldn't be here right now since I'm at work, but I just had to check the garm and post something.
Thx for running those stats. I also still like the mpg remaining roughly the same. Lou is playing the same minutes as he did for the LAL. And he's never been a 30 mpg player in his career. It's reasonable to think that he's best in concentrated batches, while Gordon is a better fit for more minutes with Harden. I'm not so sure more minutes is a linear reward in productivity, as it means you are playing more minutes with Harden. But obviously, the games when Lou is en fuego, you can't deny him. it's a good minute management problem to have, no doubt. So glad we have true depth where this is even a problem, vs previous years where we argue about scrubs getting more minutes. fwiw: on a 58-win team that lost in the Finals to Magic, Andrew Toney only had 24 mpg. And during their best years, Vinnie Johnson was 24-25 mpg for Detroit. Bobby Jackson was a 24mpg player. And, of course, Elie only got 24 mpg in our two Title runs. Hard to get even the 3rd Guard more minutes, much less a situation with 4 guards who contribute so much. Yeah, looks like he's gliding on an air-hockey board sometimes.
Lets not forget Gordon's defense. He has been a pretty decent defender. That has to count for something.
Lou makes us a title contender when he plays well. I'm worried about GSW with Durant. I think we're evenly matched with Lou playing well.
