With slick television ads promoting his signature Adidas, hip-hop songs dropping his name, a possible MVP award, and the most famous beard since ZZ Top, James Harden has arrived. In fact, he may just be the biggest name in Texas.

Too long to post the whole thing. Nothing earth-shattering, but a solid read regardless.

Didn't see this posted, but I didn't look too hard. Lock if necessary.

Funny story. Wearing my Rockets Hoodie far far away from Texas (Northeast of USA) and some kid walks up to me and says, "that's my favorite team"

I naturally said "Oh wow thats awesome. but why??"

    "I love James Harden"!!!

Really enjoyed the read, Buck. We used to take TM, but finally gave it up because of all the ads. Now I'll have to buy a copy off the rack. This is one to save, in my opinion. We're way overdue for a Finals appearance. James and MDA are like mad scientists conjuring something the league hasn't see before, and at some point, the world will be saying of the Rockets, "It's alive!" After far too long, we are.

BTW there is also an article on Mark Cuban, but I won't hold it against them since Harden is on the cover.

    "Star Rocket in Flight"

Ugh. They headline the article with a Starland Vocal Band/"Afternoon Delight" reference. How unclever.

I just looked around at the registers when I was at HEB, didn't see one. I only got mine in the mail a couple of days ago, so I'd think they'll be out soon.

It wouldn't be Texas Monthly without something Dallas-centric. It's one of their few faults (along with the preponderance of ads as Deckard mentioned).

At least they didn't say Rocket Man. Starland is a reference most wouldn't get.

Rocketman is a much better song. I don't recall a reference to the city having a problem, so I'm grateful for that.
