That's what Nunes said, not me. Aside from that, isn't that how we knew Manafort and Flynn were lying about not having contact wit Russian officials, because the NSA had collected their communications while surveilling the Russian ambassador. I'm just struggling to understand why Nunes is dropping this bombshell that doesn't seem to be a bombshell.
what excuse? the better question might be why are people from Trump's team in communications with foreign nationals that's under surveillance.

The way he says it makes it sound so open to interpretation. If someone from within Trump Tower had made a call to a foreign national (i.e. a Russian-linked business associate), and that person had a "wiretap", then this indirectly means Trump Tower was "wiretapped". So now, what prevents Trump (and his team) from discovering a transcript of such a conversation and then hailing it as proof of a wiretap?
Nunes can't say he was wiretapped... but vaguely makes a public statement about "evidence" he alone "saw", away from the committee he supposedly "leads." Folks on both sides of the aisle called for an independent investigation... and Nunes just demonstrated why it is needed.
