Yeah, I agree 100%. If Harden has a 30 or 40 point triple double against OKC in a win then it's a wrap. He's stepped up his play big time recently, and he knows how big that OKC game will be.

    against Kawhi: 39 and 12
against Lebron: 38 points and a triple double

it's time to finish off Westbrook for good

I never though I'd love hearing Stephen A. speak so much. Hopefully most MVP voters have his knowledge.

Media members don't care that Harden is almost averaging a triple double. Media members care that Westbrook IS averaging a triple double. Those 2 rebounds, man.

A lot of people hate on SAS but he seriously knows basketball. I've got a lot of respect for him.

max kellerman with the worst argument of all time lol.

"Westbrook started and harden came off the bench"

Lol harden was like 22 and westbrook was a year older and more established at that point. Westbrook had his starting spot before harden even got there and developed.

No coach would lose the locker room over making that kinda change on a good young team.

I mean i could make that same lame argument.

Monta ellis is better than klay because klay came off the bench.

Nick van exel is better than kobe because kobe came off the bench.

In Nate Duncan's latest podcast, he reiterates that Curry deserved the MVP in 2015 because he did not have to play in crunch time, then proceeds to proclaim Westbrook as MVP because of his crunch time performances, in case you were wondering if the goal posts are still being moved.

That argument is so stupid. It's clear that Harden was a starting caliber player back then, but OKC needed someone to give them a spark off the bench. Harden is far more willing to accept a role like that than Westbrook is. I'd love to see Scott Brooks tell Westbrook that he was gonna be their 6th man back then.

This is what Trump does. Takes a phrase like "triple-double" and equates it to "triple-crown". Triple Crown means you lead the league in those three categories. WB leads one category and 3rd in another, and Harden leads one and 2nd in another. The rebound aspect where neither really should be over 8 per game (it's not their primary role like PTs and Ast) is just a huge glamour aspect of the stat line. They are close enough.

But it's not a triple crown stat line Kellerman. WB is 10th in rebounds. So don't start saying trip dubs brings up the idea of a sexy, triple crown....like Trump would.

The real problem with that argument is that Harden wasn't being pushed to the bench by Westbrook. He was actually willingly giving up the spot to Thabo Sefolosha for the greater good. Having three dominant scorers on the court at the same time was just too much for OKC, and Sefolosha being better fit as a complimentary piece to KD and Westbrook, Harden coming off the bench made too much sense as a team. Scott Brooks who was the head coach of OKC at the time, even at one point asked James if he wants to start over Sefolosha, and Harden declined the offer. Of course, that idiot Kellerman knows nothing about basketball, so why bother with his opinion in the first place.

The real tragedy here is that I actually liked Max Kellerman as a boxing analyst. He was always brutally honest, and never pulled punches when it came to telling the truth. Now, he's completely out of his depth, and is basically a shill for the moronic masses. I understand that it's by design, and the whole premise of the show is to create a stir and rile up viewers, but this has gone too far. He (and all of ESPN's content directors) have completely lost my respect due to the constantly shifting goalposts. They are CREATING this MVP debate, and pounding the triple-doubles because it's all they have.

Pretty sure it was confirmed that a lot of those votes were by people without real votes, so while yeah, that looks good, but I wouldn't put a whole lot of stock in it.

Max was clearly reaching for points because he has to. There's no show without a counterpoint and Stephen A. already claimed the Harden bandwagon early in the season. Max's points were all ludicrous. He marginalized winning in favor of 2 points and 2 rebounds.

Yeah, but why should those results differ so much from what the actual voters would do? It's not like he polled some random dudes off of Facebook and Twitter. There's even that sampling from executives around the league that had Harden winning it by a decent margin.
