There were a lot of problems . Defense was an issue for sure . But , the Pelicans had 30 fast break points . It's hard to distinguish between the transition D being bad and the offense fueling the other team's fast break .

But yeah our D was atrocious .

And here I thought we averaged 40.6 attempted 3's a game... Let me get my glasses fixed.

    We've been taking 45 since the ASB . It's a different team now .

Also as I said before , getting run off the line doesn't mean you don't take 3's . It makes you take a different type of 3 , usually not set and usually not from the corner.

I want good 3's . Runing us off the line isn't going to stop Gordon and Lou and James from pulling up . It just means they are playing our set offense a certain way .

So while I appreciate your smart ass attempt there , you should prolly stick to talking about things you understand.

Defending champs didn't have a plan just a couple of days ago.

One day the board says the bench is the best in the NBA & could make the playoffs.
The next day they're saying "I thought they said James Harden had more help?"

Per usual the truth lies somewhere in between the swinging pendulum of Clutchfanery.

You hit the nail right on the head. I understand smartass, because I SPEAK smartass. So therefore, I am in the right place.

    LET'S GO!!!!

And for the record... that 45.4 number you see post ASB includes Lou's numbers. So it is a bit skewed. We are technically on the same pace just added a shooter. CB33 wasn't taking that many 3's nor making (any) as many. But I supposed this is just my smartassery (patent pending).

Clutch fans are fickle. We are probably the most bipolar fans in the NBA.

We aren't going to win out, guys. The Rocks apparently thought that after the LA game, all they had to do was show up.

I was afraid they would be looking past this game. I guess it really was a tarp game. Ughhh!

I know you meant a "trap" game, and that it certainly was. The Rockets had their feet trapped in molasses. The Pelicans? They were trippin' the light fantastic.

I jut hope our bigs will show up come playoffs. This has been my biggest fear with this roster. We need a beast. I hope the clippers decide to rebuild after this season if they don't make it past the first or second round. I want to steal Jordan from them. He would be Capella times 10 in this offence.

I'm not going to say that every playoff team is intelligent enough to guard/or run us off the line, but those that do it immediately change the game, and gain an advantage.

First thing I noticed is that when Harden drives against this strategy he often ends up pocket passing much higher as he has longer to go, making the pass near the foul line, and that's traditionally resulted in Capela and Nene not being able to make it to the rim. Not good. As they often pull up to early and nearly two feet out, missing the layup.

Second thing is that Anderson becomes a liability. He's awkward at best. Almost useless out there. So if he continues to get minutes we lose another 5 points per game. Statistically, there is evidence Anderson shrinks by 50%. In addition, Trevor is shaky going to rim. So we lose points there.

Third thing is that the Rockets haven't shown they can stop shooting threes, which means that you can essentially take 10 points off the board by guarding the three and that's plenty to close the gap and beat us.

The good news is that we have Harden. the ultimate get to the rim guy. Gordon can also get to the rim. Beverley pretty good. so if the Rockets can adapt, and force themselves to take what they are given, they will score. But NBA players are creatures of habit, so it's almost impossible to change what you've been doing all year. It messes with you. And why I think traditionally jump shootings teams struggle in the playoffs.

I hope we do get run off the line. That means layups and dunks.

Just need to lock in on defense.
