this is the problem with the CBO, they think the mandate is more powerful than it is they overestimated how many would gain coverage from the mandate, and they are using the same reasoning to claim people will drop coverage without a mandate
Fourth time, since you keep posting in this thread and have ignored direct questions for 2+ pages: should people who are unable to pay for medical care receive it when they are sick?
Well we know that Trump and his team will deny any statistics showing people losing coverage or getting worse coverage, or price increases. What the opposition will have to do is to show the actual people and stories of people that had that happen to them under whatever new plan eventually comes out of this.
your world of infinite time and resources doesn't exist, but it does give you a sense of moral superiority
Yeah... I thought this was common knowledge but apparently not. The conservatives I know well will flat out tell you that is how they feel in many cases.
Right. In actual conversations most of them will admit it. Their elected representatives won't though.
Is it really "morally superior" that I'm uncomfortable with seeing people die when they don't have to? Or have their lives ruined financially due to something out of their control? I've also stated that doctors take an oath that prevents them from denying treatment to people in need. So, in your world of stone-cold decision making, who is standing between a patient and the doctor who will treat them first and figure out who pays later?
OK, but their prediction is significantly different from the CBO predictions (ACA growing) versus the FREOPP prediction (ACA declining), especially since FREOPP is trying to pitch their own alternative. I know CBO revised their estimates downward, but still seems reasonable to predict that ACA enrollment would grow, and seems most independent analyses of past CBO forecasting suggest the CBO has been sound. Which I believe is counter to your (and the Trump/republican) position... that the CBO isn't accurate or reliable in their predictions around the new Trump/republican plan.
That you are devoting time posting on a message board and consuming resources to do so says you are comfortable with some level of it.
the core problem is the cost of care if that goes down, figuring out who should/must pay for it is an easier task the left has no desire to reduce the cost of care (other than price controls, which lead to shortages) they just want to throw more money at the problem (which exacerbates it)
In the unlikely event that Trumpcare passes, it's a political disaster for the Republicans. In the likely event Trumpcare dies, it's a political disaster for the Republicans.
Who knew I was such a white knight because seeing people get sick and die makes me uncomfortable! Posting on a BBS ≠ Denying medical treatment to a person in need. Get out of here with your "resources" equivalency.
