I'd be good with that... Instead of using a 1st round pick on someone like Cam Robinson, I'd rather spend a 2nd on Nsekhe and then use the 1st rounder on either QB or BPA. If it's not happening, I'm guessing bc the front office doesn't see value in doing that, although, I don't think it would be a bad move and could prove to be something that would help the Texans quite a bit.
I would prefer Robinson with 1.25, Awuzie with 2.57, grab Davis Webb with 3.89, then finish the draft best available. That could get you two starters and a QB to develop with your first 3 picks. I don't want to waste 1.25 or 2.57 for a guy who's gonna sit for 2-3 years. Especially if we get Romo because the window is now.
I wonder what it'd take to trade up to #1 for Mitchy Mitch? Maybe first and third this year, first next year, and second in 2019? Would anybody else do this or am I crazy...
If you're suggesting the Texans trade up to #1 for Mitch Trubisky then yes, you are crazy. Very crazy.
Just curious as to why you guys wouldn't. To me he looks like the clear best qb coming out this year. Are you guys not sold on him or do you value other positions higher, is that price too high? To me, if we're gonna get a qb this year we might as well swing for the fences considering our personnel. Personally I wouldn't even draft a qb this draft if we can't get him that's how bad this class looks to me. I'd rather use every other pick for depth and possible starter replacements than another backup caliber qb. And just roll out with Romo and Savage. Now if we can't land Romo MAYBE I'd consider going for Watson if he falls to us. I truly believe Trubisky will be a franchise qb in this league.
Well, first of all I'm not sure he's the best QB in this class, and even if he was, it's such a poor QB class that he's not worth a top 10 pick.....let alone the #1 overall pick. On top of that, since no one will pick him with the top pick in the draft, you'd be trading WAY too far up when it's just unnecessary and even if it was, you'd be wasting picks this year and in the future in order to pick a guy that even best case scenario still wouldn't play at all this season. I'd much rather the picks be spent making this team better than on a glorified lottery ticket.
Texans waiting for Jerrah & Romo! Sarah Barshop: For now, Houston is playing a bit of a waiting game. Until the Texans know how much money they need to allocate for a top free agent, like Romo, they don’t have flexibility with their salary-cap space. If Houston can acquire Romo in the coming days or weeks, it may be able to fill out its roster more quickly. If the quarterback drama lasts longer, filling holes through free agency may be a bit more difficult. And Aaron Wilson said they're holding this money for Tony Romo/to add a QB. Not sure why they're in a "holding pattern" & a team like Denver isn't but . . . Spoiler Denver has signed G Ronald Leary, OT Menelik Watson, DL Zach Kerr, DL Domata Peko, LB Kasim Edebali ________________ On Trubisky, interesting McClain had him falling to 25 & Daniel Jeremiah had him falling to 32 in his mock draft today. Seems unlikely but . . .
Yes!!!!!! I come on here and see the same old arguments, and wonder if they will go on until draft day....LOL.
I'm just looking at teams they're competing against in the division and the SB champs that they should be trying to beat. Carry on. Before you say no teams improve in FA I would ask you to look at how the 2016 NYG were built.
Do you think the 2017 Houston Texans can win the SB even if they add Romo and only add talent in the draft and lower tier FA's? I don't, but I do think the McNair's will make a ton of money.
It's kinda hard for Ricky to do these kinds of things when he probably dorsn't even know who Nsekhe is and it's kinda hard to learn about these types of players/moves at a Rockets game. Think of it this way, two of the worst yrs in franchise history, 2010 6-10 Kubes didn;t go to the combine (Ricky did) result 6-10. Bob McNair gets cancer 2-14. This is what Texans fans have to look forward to with Cal and Ricky McNair at the helm.
Depends on if BOB finally learns how to call an offense. If so, then they've got as good a shot as anyone and better than most.
Dude. No one said no teams improve in FA. The point is that just because a team is not going crazy spending in FA doesn't mean the team isn't going to be better. Your analogy works for the Giants but not for the Jags.
