Don't know about this trailer, but Suicide Squad had a fun trailer and we all know how that turned out.
I hate that the main character's name is actually "baby." That's dumb. Title is dumb. Trailer is meh... But it's Edgar *BLEEPING* Wright. I'll see it for sure.
For what it's worth, this already premiered at SXSW Film Festival to glowing reviews. Currently 100% on RT with an average rating of 8.5 (14 reviews).
Despite some early skepticism on here I believe this might end up being one of the most fun films of the year. Fans and critics alike seem to be proclaiming it as Edgar's greatest movie to date which is saying something as 'Shaun of the Dead' was bloody awesome!
If this is even close to being true then it means this will be worth the watch. I thought Pilgrim, while sort of a scattershot of a movie, did a good job of firing the synapses necessary to satiate the pleasure areas of my brain. But yeah, if we're talking "Shaun of the Dead" caliber than I can't wait. Summer flicks looking a whole hell of a lot better than last year.
I've seen the trailer several times. I absolutely hated it and the very idea behind the movie. But Edgar Wright is a genius. I didn't even realize it was his movie until now. I will not see it in the theaters, but I will watch it on video because it is a Wright project. I'll leave this here as tribute to Edgar Wright.
Surprised nobody's talking about this movie, as it was pretty brilliant. Best of the summer for sure, and one of the best of the year. 9/10 for me.
I had planned on going to see a matinee showing of this Thursday or Friday but I decided against it. I thought the original trailer made for a great movie, will definitely see it.
I didn't love it, but that's more because it's not my cup of tea. I can see how critics would love it. It's well done, just not gritty, and I need that in a heist movie (Heat), otherwise I'll only enjoy it greatly as a comedy heist (Ocean's 11). To me, this was a more artistic and creative Italian Job type movie. Sure, it's rated R and people die and there's cursing, but this movie is all style and no grit. Maybe I should stop comparing shootout scenes to the ones in Heat in my own head, because they rarely live up to that benchmark.
