I'd be fine going into the draft if the Texans only signed Romo and TJ Lang. You address the two biggest needs on the team. Rd 1 and 2 could be BPA at a position of need. A field of D. Watson, Mahomes, Ramcyzk, C. Robinson, Watt, D. King, B. Baker, Njoku, Lamp, S. Jones, D. Feeney, McCaffrey too choose from would all be significant starter upgrades or depth too where there's a lack of
And ability of his to turnover the ball. the kid is inaccurate I really don't like the idea of reaching for a second talent QB because we need one. None of them can help us now and imo we now need a CB more. Joseph is really the only one we have and he's an old man. Johnson has broken his foot twice already which scare the **** out of me and Kareem needs to be moved to safety. Deep CB draft or not they need one in a bad way. So I hope all QBs are gone
Watson could be the best in this class and still never be a starting caliber QB. This is a super weak group and none of them would go in the first round if there was some real talent in the class.
It's not that weak. Trubisky has a good chance to start. Watson does. Mahomes can develop into one. Webb and Peterman have a shot. Kaaya and Evans are also projects that could pan out. Hell, even Trevor Knight is a wildcard that could be a decent quarterback or safety. The class isn't great. But the fact of the matter is no one knows on quarterbacks. Every year the class is deemed decent early in the season, and then as it's scouted, it becomes a bad class. Every year. The last quarterback that was a universal slam dunk was Andrew Luck, and that guy has accomplished what? Fool's golded a franchise into paying him $100 million plus. He hasn't won jack ish.
I don't know about that, every one of these QB's this year scream project 3rd round pick to me. Even the "top" guys. We'll see what happens, but due to what colleges are doing, we're just not seeing quality QB's in the draft like we once did. It seems like pretty much all of them are coming in needing a few years to learn how to play QB.....and this class is especially weak IMO due to red flags all over the place. Of course that doesn't mean that someone can't "come out of nowhere" but I just don't see it with the "top" guys in this class.
You're basically saying that 7-8 QBs in this draft have a shot at panning out when history has shown it is more like 1-2, 3 at the absolute most. Not saying you're wrong because no one knows like you said, but think Trubisky has the only absolute shot of starting and that is by default based purely on draft projection.
Both Moton and Garcia may be good picks, but Dion Dawkins ( http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/dion-dawkins?id=2557875 ) sounds like a sleeper great RT pick. He played 3-years of LT and is currently projected as a OG, but would appear to be a perfect RT for us.
