It's funny when people say that it doesn't matter when you lose a DC, but then when the defense isn't as good the next year everyone wonders why. Anyway, it's just interesting that Texans fans are always so good when it comes to two things

    1. Talking up other teams as if they are amazing when they are not.

    2. Downplaying any accomplishment by the Texans as no big deal.

I guess it's just the way it is.

To me, letting Bouye walk was a partly calculated risk in order to gain that comp pick to offset trading Brock. I know most won't agree, but that's my gut instinct.

I haven't downplayed the Texans... The Broncos defense is elite (just like the texans). There won't be a drop off where they're suddenly a middle of the pack defense. I can guarantee you that (as long as their key pieces are healthy). And the Texans Oline was better than the Broncos Oline last year. That's not really debatable. Their starting RB was injured last year. Again, not debatable. With a solid Oline, they're every bit as good as when they won the superbowl.

Did we forget that McCoy is their offensive coordinator? The guy might not be a good head coach, but he's one of the best offensive minds in football.

Not a bad take at all and especially considering teams typically don't pay UDFA, contract year potential one-hit wonders. Odds say, save your money, take the pick, and try and find another UDFA gem or draft pick. Oh and did I mention this draft is stacked with CBs.

I'd guess the Texans already have a couple CBs they expect to be available in the 3rd or 4th round that'll be suitable replacements. I'm not heartbroken over the loss of Bouye...happy to save that money and figure out a cheaper option.

Ladarius Webb cut in Baltimore. Would be very interested in signing him. He transitioned to safety this year and played pretty well in coverage. As a cut player he wouldn't count against our comp picks.

Titans are signing Hightower (ILB) from the Patriots according to Schefty to a massive deal.

The AFC South is upgrading talent BIG TIME all around us.

Wow. LOL I wonder who retweeted that I saw?

Also, does anyone else have the problem that they can't see tweets when they are in spoiler tags? Basically every tweet JR puts up these days is spoilered so I can't view it.

Cushing brings a lot more to the team than just his play on the field.

    His wife's sister for one.

Who allows JJ's back to feel better through their training. Have to keep the wife's sister happy.

If Romo is cut then he won't count in the comp pick formula.

Donald Trump has a strategy for that.

Hightower and McKinney are very similar. The Texans don't play two linebackers very often. They like the extra defensive back on the field. Not worth paying Hightower a ton of money. Just get a hybrid guy or safety in the draft that you can put on the field with McKinney in passing situations.
