Why not trade a 6th or 7th for Romo and re-work his contract? That way we don't screw up the comp picks we are going to get for Bouye and Simon. Doesn't look like they can get a decent FA Tackle so either just go all in on Romo, horde comp picks to help make up for the 2nd you gave up and go heavy OL in first two rounds, and then BPA the rest of the draft. Get your rookie QB next year when it is supposed to be the deepest QB draft in a long time.
can barwin still ball? haven't been following him. Really liked Simon, another gem, smaller than Bouye but would like to keep those guys you find late.
No I'm not a Broncos fan. But some players do have that mentality to sign with teams who just won championships.
What's the infatuation with these guys signing contracts with teams in the division. I mean, choosing to play for teams like the Jags, Titans, Colts...retirement is almost a better option than playing in those shitty places.
Had his worst year statistically speaking but think he'd be worth a shot. Only 30 and him and Mercilus from the outside would be interesting.
I kind of laugh at all the broncos hate talk. I watched every single game they played last season. Their defense is still elite...doesnt matter that Wade is gone, they have elite players on that side of the ball. It's not like all of a sudden TJ Ward, Talib, Von... Theyre just going to look lost and out or position. They had a better defense than the Texans last year (despite what yards per game tells us). On offense, they lost CJ Anderson and had one of the worst offensive lines in the league... Much worse than the Texans. They also played in a tough division. They added Leary and if they focus on their Oline, that team will easily go back to winning 10 games in one of the toughest divisions in football.
Waste of time. This is how it goes when a city thinks they are competing with another team for a free agent. Suddenly the other team becomes the worst lol. Kevin Durant should TOTALLY pick the Rockets over Golden State! We are a better fit! Broncos? Why would he go there? Their wide receivers aren't any good! New coach! Bad defense!
Ian RapoportVerified account @RapSheet John Simon has signed with the #Colts for 3 years, $13.5M, source said.
Have about $35MM in space now to add some talent. Would like to see either Mike Remmers or Kelvin Beachum signed to play RT and then besides that need some LB and secondary depth.
Why havent we cut Newton,Clark and Bergstrom yet? pre June 1st cut and we could save another 9mill. Newton definitely wont play in 2017, other two are trash. Newton 3.5 Clark 2.75 Bergstrom 2.75
Cutting Newton is savagery. Would send a bad message to current and future players. Let the guy heal and try to make a come back before cutting him.
There's no benefit in creating artificial cap space. If they need the money to land a player, they can make things happen then. Otherwise, why release two viable depth guys?
Why? The message it should send is that the team wants to win and they aren't going to keep dead weight around just to be good guys about it. Newton's career is almost certainly over, keeping him does nothing but waste cap space.
