They don't have one, but I'd imagine it'll be soon, as they communicated to Romo yesterday that he would be released at the start of free agency, seemingly not to let him miss out on opportunities as teams begin to spend in the FA market. His posting on twitter/instagram was more or less right at the start of free agency, so it seems like they'll be cutting ties soon.
The Broncos is the best landing team for Romo. The Broncos just upgraded their O line, and have good pieces on offense, solid defense; what more can you ask? Texans are good, with a good defense, but their O line sucks. Romo won't last a week there.
With this new found cap room, maybe Texans go after other players too. Martellus Julius Hightower Ware Revis All Day Elvis Poe Logan Connor Mario Jay C Case RG3 Fitz magic Charles
Texans were a middle of the pack offensive line last year. That was with their big FA acquisition at G playing hurt most of the year while also playing on the right side rather than the left like he had in Kansas City, their 2nd rounder in Martin missing the whole year, and their RT in Newton missing most of the season. Brown at LT and Mancz on the interior both played well. I think they envision Martin as their center for the next ten years. They traded up to make sure they got him last draft and already had him penciled in as the starter with BOB praising him to no end all throughout the offseason and TC which he rarely does for any player let alone a rookie. That means Mancz and hopefully a healthy Allen will battle it out for RG and whoever doesn't win it will be solid depth. XSF at LG has developed well in run blocking but still needs work in pass protection. They can add a tackle or two in the draft and/or FA (Beachum?). Brown-XSF-Martin-Mancz/Allen-draft pick/fa
The Broncos have an all new coaching staff, including a new DC. Now that they no longer have Wade Phillips, that defense is going to take quite a step back, now that they no longer have Kubiak their offense will take a step back. On top of that they are a cold weather team without a dome. It's pretty obvious that there's not a good reason for anyone to want to go to Denver right about now.
Denver doesn't have the skill weapons that Houston has on offense. Getting Nick Martin back at C, a full season of Brown and whoever they pick up in the draft will give them the better O Line. Texans defense is better. Romo wants to stay near his Texas home, Texans are the best fit
As others have posted, you have a brand new coaching staff with a first time HC (defensive one too). The Texans OL needs some shoring up but Romo also got hurt behind the best OL in the league so there's that.
Not really. I mean sure you have Demaryius Thomas, but he's starting to look like a WR made to look good by Peyton Manning, he was nothing before Manning and has fallen off without him. Emmanuel Sanders is a very good WR too, but doesn't make up for them not having much by way of a run game or really anything else going for them on offense. On top of all of this, they just lost their LT, which is arguably the most or 2nd most important spot on the O line. I mean, Denver is struggling right now.
Crazy how the Romo narrative has changed. First no one wanted him here, now that it may be a possibility, people are starting to warm up to the idea. Hate to say it, but Josh Innes said it first.
Denver's main pull is their defense and Elway. However, I think the Texans have more to offer for Romo as far as weapons, team and location.
His post is also false. He board seems to have the same split on the idea now that it always has had.
I didn't like the idea of it at first and my initial knee jerk reaction was "hell no", but I warmed to the idea pretty quickly given the options and the prospect of him coming in on a fairly cheap deal after being cut. Now that Smith somehow found a way to trade Osweiler and save 10 mil in the process, I'm completely behind the idea......but I still think it would take a miracle for Romo to stay healthy all season long. That said, if the miracle happens, he could be the solid QB we've been looking for since Schaub collapsed as a player.
I forgot about that. Good point there, but the Broncos won a Super bowl a year ago, and they pretty much still have the same team. The only advantage the Texans have over the Broncos is Houston is closer to Romo's home in Dallas.
The Broncos Oline is worse. They added Leary, but lost Okung. And Stephenson at RT for them is a trainwreck.
