Any doctor in the house, op suffers From severe Knee jerk reaction, and short term memory loss. Help the homie out
I knew this thread would blow up. But really Brewer knew his role and most importantly he knew how to play with this team. To have Lou Will and EG both come off the bench is crazy neither of them know how to play off each other (both are 6th men). I would start EG and have Pat and Lou come off the bench. Harden/Pat EG/Lou Ariza/Dekker Anderson/Harrell Clint/Nene
Lou in his short time as a Rocket has already played better than Brew during the whole season. Lou has had 3 bad games, but still he's no brewer. But... Lou is too quick to be such bad defender. that's my only knock on him.
7th game with the rockets. How come they haven't figured it out!!! Can you let Morey and MDA know what to do
Gordon has been +25, +15, -24, +8, +8, -5, 0 +27 over seven games... so +3 a game. Not sure what he was before, but quick look and this seems about right. He was really super effective the first couple months and cooled down a bit after he started having some of those nagging injuries. No one can serious argue that Brewer himself is missed. Sure, he was kind of frantic hustle guy out there, but it didn't exactly help that much. I can at least see someone arguing Brewer's fit with Gordon and the second unit is what should be looked at, not his actual contribution .... But the bigger issue isn't the loss of Brewer, but Lou William's meh play. After a good first three games, he's 2-11, 1-7 from 3 3-8, 1-6 from 3 1-10, 0-3 from 3 2-10, 2-5 from 3 Total 8-39 (20.5%), 4 for 21 from 3 (33%... though was 2 for 16, 12.5% before the last game) Is this a Williams slump, or speak to fit. It seems more the latter. This is on MDA to figure out, be it lineups or what.
I blame it on the Rockets. Seems like anybody that comes here they forget to shoot and their percentages drop across the board.
Lou will adjust. The moment is just too big for him right now. He came from a lottery team. This is a big change for him
do you hoop?? if you were to play ball you would know somethings off with Lou and Gordon playing together....hell even lou and harden have had possessions where there is NO movement. listen im not saying I would take Brewer over Lou Will, what I am saying is Lou Will needs to start moving without the ball and doing things Brewer used to do (run fast, slash, hustle, get out to the way and spot up in the corner)......Lou is used to having the Fakers give him the ball and get out of his way. But that only works here if your last name is Harden
I completely agree with this. Obviously late game lineups will almost always include Bev, but I like Bev and Lou together off the bench. Wolverine would run the offense better and take the back seat offensively to Lou.
If I'm not mistaken, Lou has PLENTY of legit playoff experience in this league. I remember him playing for the Hawks in big games including playoffs...and again with Toronto. So it's hard for me to buy the "moment is too big" argument. This isn't a 25 year old budding star...he's a veteran for sure with tons of experience in the league. If anything, I think he's having a hard time adjusting to being the 4th offensive option on a team.
being the 4th offensive option on the team is consistent with his adjustment of going from a lottery team to a winning team. He did play in eastern conference playoffs with those teams but that doesn't change the fact that he's not used to it right now. In his interviews he talks about how weird it is mentally to go from being the scorer on a lottery team to being a complimentary scorer on a winning team right now
obviously they have some things to figure out and 7 nba games together isn't going to do that right off the bat
Corey Brewer played a pivotal role for the team...as the scapegoat. He was willing to take the criticism off of other players on the team. Now that he's gone, the Rockets don't have a scapegoat, everybody is on edge, the chemistry is worse. Brewer was the hero that we needed, but not the one that we deserve.
