Romo now expected to be traded, not released.
Tony Romo is expected to be traded, rather than released, by the Cowboys, league sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. The Broncos and Texans are both in play, according to sources.

    Brian Cushing?
    First round pick?
    JJ?

Dang, I wish he would of been released. We shouldn't trade for Romo. Maybe ten years ago.

I'm a Cowboys fan first and a Texans fan second. I do think it would be in the best interest of Texans to give up their second round here this year it is their best chance to make the Super Bowl.

    LOL LOL LOL

"Cowboys fan first" thinks Texans should trade their 2nd round pick for a player who will be released in 2 hours if they don't get an offer.

I would trade nothing at all for him. If you trade for him, you inherit the contract and he's not worth that kind of money. The Cowboys will cave once they get no offers and just release him outright.

If he gets released he's going to Denver. If you would rather have your second round pick and roll with Jay Cutler or Brock Osweiler that's on you..

I honestly wouldn't trade ANYTHING for Romo. I would like him on the team, but with that salary and injuries, I am not giving up anything of value for him. FA ONLY

As much as I hate Cutler, I would rather add him as a cheap FA than TRADE for Romo

    What makes you say this?

If you give something up for him, you eat his contract. The Texans don't want to eat his contract.

Jesus christ, guys... You can restructure his deal, which he'd be all over because you could increase his guaranteed money (which, if you trade for him, would only be $14MM)

I'm guessing no matter what Cowboys are going to want a pick(s) regardless if we throw in a player or not. If all it takes is Cushing as the OP suggested, I'd do that in a heartbeat.

Conditional pick of some type based upon number of games played.
