    Lets not act like Leonard is guarding Durant, Lebron, Harden for the whole time they're on the court.

    If we're going to discredit Harden for being a product of D'Antoni's system then shouldn't we be doing the same to Kawhi for playing in a Spur's system that has consistently made players better?

    Westbrook and OKC about to slide out the picture soon. Spurs and Utah are next for OKC, that will be 6 losses in a row if they happen to lose both.

    I understand what your saying and I hate this argument.

    Any great coach will tell you the players make the system look great.

    Sure it helps out the role players but the true franchise superstar are what drove and coaches system.

    Pop and MDA Just happens to have elite superstars and system and that's why their teams have the 2nd and 3rd best record in the NBA.

    Very simple.

    Leonard is a stud as well as harden.

    Im sure there's major respect from both of them for each other. And we know coach pop loves harden.

    These two guys have been the best players in the NBA this year and deserve the MVP (as a rockets fan hopefully harden gets it because he's turned his team around) but l won't be pissed is Leonard gets it like I would have been if it went to Westbrook.

    Call me a hater but harden and Leonard are true superstar/franchise guys, just plain winners.

    I don't feel that same way about Westbrook. That guy is a me first loser who does not elevate anyone around him. He's got a lot of talent around him and there 6 games over .500.

    That's trash.

    There really needs to be a "Most Outstanding Player" award that allows people to vote for players independent of their team's performance. I'm not a Westbrick fan but I still acknowledge it would be a shame for him to average a triple-double and not be in anyway recognized for it in terms of awards. He would deserve the MOP.

    Plus this way, having an "MOP" allows "MVP" to really be about making your team better with your own value. So no one would be voting for Westbrook over Harden for MVP.

    Since there's a Defensive Player of the Year award, there should probably also be a separate Offensive Player of the Year award, which I think Harden would probably win because of his combination of raw stats + efficiency.

    So I'd give Westbrook MOP, Harden OPOY, Leonard DPOY, and LeBron or Harden MVP

    I don't know if this is consistent from year to year, but here is the Official Results from last year with each media member that voted.

    I think we can count on Bill Worrell's vote! Harden is our #1 draft choice!!!

    Sam Esfandiari spitting out facts. People are holding things against Harden (coaching, supporting cast, hindsight) that are not being held against others nearly as much, if at all.

    Forget 50 wins. The Thunder may struggle to reach 45.

    We have advanced stats now, there really should be a set criteria and formula to calculate MVP, taking into account W/L record as well. Take all the bias out of media voting.

    Along these lines?

    Would be a little boring to outsource awards to algorithms, but I see what you mean.

    Spurs have a back-to-back with Kings tonight and Thunder tomorrow. They are resting KL & LA for tonights game. I am sure they will be ready to go for RW tomorrow.

    Is it just me or does this MVP race remind me a lot of the 05-06 season

    Nash = Harden
    Kobe = Westbrook
    Kawhi = Dirk

    Nash finished 1st, Dirk 3, and Kobe 4

    Harden maximizing talent around him and us producing as more than the sum of our parts is exactly why he should be considered much higher than WB and why Kawhi is at least up there with him.

    How many rest games has Harden had this season?*

    *That was rhetorical, BTW.

    That's a warriorworld guy. I think he plain just doesn't like Westbrook, but to be fair I don't know much about him lol.

    I love it...the fans just have to kill em with facts. The triple double is nice, but let's not forget that wins have always been the biggest factor.

    It does remind me of that. Everybody was saying that Kobe had to be the MVP...his team was trash, he had no help (guys like Smush Parker and Kwami Brown were starters), he was averaging 35 ppg, and he had an 81 point game, scored 62 in 3 quarters, and had multiple 50 point games. How did the media vote? They gave the MVP to Nash who's team exceeded expectations and won 9 more games than Kobe did with a squad that didn't have Amare all season and had lost 2 starters in Joe Johnson and Quentin Richardson in free agency. Wins trumped Kobe's 35 ppg...let's hope wins can also trump Westbrook's triple double.
