Not to mention a much easier 6 division games... which would make the path to the playoffs that much more likely.

Don't mention that the Texans have to play at Foxborough and against the seahawks, cardinals, and Rams defense.

Well, so does the rest of the division (minus the Pats game). The Cardinals and Rams aren't expected to be that much better next season.

That's all still much easier than 2 games each vs the Chiefs, Raiders and Chargers... also, the AFC West plays the AFC East (Patriots) and the NFC East (Cowboys) next year.

Going after Romo one season after trading up for a QB in the first round is admitting a colossal failure.....but the Elway can do no wrong.

You're thinking how good the team is; I'm thinking how good the defense (mostly defensive line). The Rams had a terrific defense and that was before Wade Philips. The last thing you want to do if you are a fragile QB is to play against the toughest front 7s in the league. The Raiders and Chargers don't boast that.

Depends on what Romo wants and where Jerry said he can't go:

Best Defense: Texans w/Broncos close 2nd/tie
    Best Offense: Texans
    Money: Chiefs/Jets then Broncos probably
    Easiest Division: Texans

I was just comparing Broncos, Texans, Chiefs, Jets... Who else would go after him? I think Cardinals will look to draft rather than replace old QB with old QB. Browns might go after him, but other than money, NOTHING should make him want Browns. Other than a little more money, I think we are more desirable than Broncos.

The "fragile" QB rhetoric used with Romo is slightly overblown. By this criteria, most NFL QB's are going to be considered fragile...including Andrew Luck, Marriota, Carson Palmer, Jay Cutler, and Derek Carr.

That being said, if I was looking for the easier path to the playoffs... which is most dependent on the # of games you can easily win... the Texans have an easier path than any individual AFC West team.

I think you have to go after Romo - we should be in WIN NOW mode...and Brock is horrible.

That's silly; he started 15 in '14 and '13. If the Texans (or any other team) squeezed 15 starts out of him in 2017, they'd be through-the-roof thrilled.

I honestly believe this is what it will boil down to if its between Denver and Houston and the money is similar.

no state tax, closed roof, easier division, close to home in Dallas, better (?) o-line

Denver has Elway mystique unfortunately, might make the difference

But is the ceiling the roof? That's the real question.

Denver has more money... THAT'S the biggest difference.

In Houston's favor: they have coaching continuity. I also think staying closer to home would appeal to him.

What I don't know is how any Houston-Dallas rivalry might play out... would Jones ask him to leave Texas? Would he have any incentive to stick it to Dallas?...

Another factor working against Denver is that they are losing Wade Phillips who made that defense what they are.

Age has a lot to do with it so Palmer definitely fits the criteria.

Well, if I'm a QB and I'm looking for the path of least "get my butt on the ground" resistance, I'm not going with the Texans. They have the best team but they also face the toughest defenses this coming season.
