Always gotta try to win any game u play but im wondering if it would benefit the rockets more if we didnt win. Idk about yall but id rather play the spurs than the warriors in the 2nd round.
Always follow the money. If vegas has him as the favorite than he is the favorite. Media people try to get ratings so they are all about keeping the suspense up and talking about recent events. Gamblers are about putting their $ where their mouth is and making smart decisions to win. The high rollers who gamble tens of thousands on this stuff usually have inside information towards how voters are likely to vote. Trust vegas way more than talk shows trying to get ratings
Understandable premise but always aim for wins. I think gsw is more vulnerable in the 2nd rd trying to reincorporate Durant.
If Lou Williams just had an average Sweet Lou game, no one is even having this conversation. Rockets would've won convincingly. That's the sad part. Meanwhile, the Spurs' other future HOF players Ginobili and Parker actually showed up, combined for 28 points.
The MVP race has to be between Harden and Kawhi, and at this point it has to be Harden's to lose. I don't want to hear about Russell Westbrook in the discussion anymore. His team has lost 4 straight games to subpar teams. His team is 7th in the West and just a few games over .500. Kobe averaged 35 ppg on a decent Lakers team, he had an 81 point game as well as a game where he dropped 62 points in 3 quarters. He had multiple 50 point games. Where did he finish in the MVP race? 4th. The media is being very disingenuous if they want to act like Kawhi is now the frontrunner. Where was he the 1st 60 games of the season? The media was barely even mentioning his name. He was barely considered a top 5 candidate and was behind Harden, Westbrook, Lebron, and KD pretty much all season. So now that he had 1 great game all of the sudden he's on top? Nah...
I agree. Im just afraid that durant might be back and kicking butt by then. I may be delusional but I still think we play well against the spurs. We just have to not blow our leads (easier said than done.) Im just not sold that kawhi can be that dude in the playoffs yet. He is only 25 years old. He was a deer in headlights against the thunder last year. I could be tripping but I trust stars aged 27-31 in the playoffs more than a 25 year old. I super agree about always aiming for wins though. Never tank for seeding. Its cancerous and reeks of entitlement/conceit
He might be 25, but he also has a Finals MVP under his belt. His game is also well-suited for playoffs basketball. I'm pretty sold on Kawhi being a superstar who deserves his due respect.
Rockets & Harden beating Lebron/Cavs (primetime ESPN) and Westbrook/Thunder (ABC) on National TV will be important to get the media/influencers to push towards Harden. Wins in general help, but those "signature games" are important to swaying the media.
Im very sold on him being a superstar who deserves respect. Im just not sold on him being a bigtime playoff performer yet. How many 25 year olds have gone ham in the playoffs
Our 7th man, Lou Williams, went 1-10 that night. We should've won that game easily. I'm not worried at all. This is OUR year.
depends on the criteria of your definition of ham. as in go all the way and win a championship? Cause there are plenty of guys that do play well in the playoffs at 25 years old.
Disgusting! Having Beadle being the main host of their NBA show and her pushing her agenda is awful. Unwatchable. Bring back Doris Burke, please!!!
