They lost the opportunity to be in a Super Bowl where they were blown out worse than just about any team to ever play in a Super Bowl. Yes, they missed out on the chance for that. Given the fanbase, I'm sure they'd call that "mediocre" if it had been the Texans.

Forget Garoppolo. Price is too high and product is too unproven. Romo or bust.

I saw a rumor like this saying that the contending teams would want to do this. It's good to hear the Broncos would do this as well. Means they're kind of equal footing with the Texans.

Tony Romo flew to Denver to meet with Broncos Tuesday night:

    http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ly-flew-denver-meet-broncos-article-1.2991729

"According to CBS Sports reporter Jonah Keri, Romo arrived late Tuesday night to discuss the opportunity to play QB for the franchise this season.
The Broncos are one of the teams that make the most sense for Romo. He’ll be looking to win a championship before he retires and Denver is basically a quarterback away. Their Super Bowl-winning defense is basically still in place and all they need is a quarterback in place who can make game-changing throws. There’s reportedly interest on both sides to make this happen. NFL sources told Colorado’s 9News general manager John Elway and the team are ready to pursue Romo if and when he becomes available. Romo’s preferred choice is also rumored to beTony the Broncos......."

Exactly this. He was at the Mavs game last night,so the report is doubtful.

I don't believe he's allowed to meet with another team while he's still a member of the Cowboys.

I know Romo is old and injury prone, but I'd still sign him if the price is right. He is a lottery ticket that gives you a chance, however slim, to have your cake and eat it to.

Draft a QB, sign Romo and hope he is healthy enough to help you compete this year while the draft pick gets ready. (assuming there's even a guy they like as a project)

I know the odds on a healthy Romo season are slim, but the gamble is worth it in my opinion. This core is about to be toast.

    And here we go...

Sources tell Adam Schefter and me the Dallas Cowboys will release Tony Romo on Thursday, the first day of the league year. Romo will leave the Cowboys as the franchise leader in passing yards and touchdowns after a 14-year run with the team, including 10 years as the starter. Denver and Houston are expected to be among the teams interested in Romo, who turns 37 in April. What is not known is whether the Cowboys will outright release him or designate him as a post-June 1 cut.

Romo will sign with someone by the weekend, in my opinion. It'll be Houston, or Denver. Hopefully Houston.

He won't want to hinder his new team's free agency ability. I think that's part of the timing thing.

With Buffalo retaining Tyrod, there's one less team in the quarterback market. It also looks like the Redskins may trade Cousins to the Niners and roll with Colt.

I'm thinking there may be a way for the Texans to trade up five spots or so and get Deshaun Watson. I'd love that. I think he'd fit well here, and he'd be a great understudy to Romo for a year or two. He's more polished than Mahomes, should he have to step in this year.

That said, I'd be fine with Mahomes. More than happy.

I'd be sad to see Savage never get his shot here hough. Chances are, we'd release him, and he'd go on to start somewhere else and have a good year. Watch him go to Cleveland and play well there for years.

They might not need to trade up to get Deshaun. Trubisky is more complete and Kizer is more physically gifted. Chances are they go before Watson (maybe to SF and Cleveland). If Watson, Trubisky, Kizer, and Mahomes are gone by 25; it means a really talented DB is available.

If Savage can't beat out Brock and a rookie then I doubt he'll do much with another team.

Part of me thinks he would go to a team with an aging vet like Cardinals or Steelers. Learn the system and be the QB to come.
