Can Matt Bullard stop being so repetitive during games?

I usually try and mute the game when watching on league pass. I'm a homer, but Bull is miserable to listen to.

Being in Austin and without league pass, just be happy you don't have to listen to Sean Elliott ever.

I've noticed that broadcasters from many teams in many leagues tend to say the same things over, and over, and over. For example after living in Phoenix for several years I used to buy the TV package to watch the hockey team. Same issue.

It takes a pretty creative color guy to avoid repetition. And I agree, Bullard is repetitive to the extreme. But to those saying "I watch the away broadcast", it's not necessarily that their broadcasters are better, it's just that the variety helps.

Can someone photoshop DD's face on the Mario Elie kiss of death photo? Matt's career is toast now.

They also have to take in to account the casual and new viewers who don't know the nuances of the game.

I never liked Matt Bullard since he first started doing the games in 2005. It should be Calvin Murphy and Craig Ackerman doing the games now.

Bullard is my favorite of the four Rockets' broadcasters.

If we started a poll about which broadcaster was most disliked by Clutchfans, Bullard, Worrell, and Drexler might come in a 3-way tie.

Calvin is favored by being out of the spotlight for years. Ackerman is still shiny new toy - give him some time to ruffle some feathers.

Being a broadcaster than can please everyone is a big rarity.

I'm with you. He annoys me to death. I don't necessarily won't him gone, but I really wish he would change just a little.

You can tell Bull wants to discuss more advanced stats but he's been told to keep it simple.

Most viewers couldn't even tell you what FG% is or which rules changed when. They cater to the audience. I'm sure he doesn't like keeping it that simple and repetitive either.

Our broadcasters might be bad but they're not horrible. Horrible is like Sean Elliot. Good god, he is the worst commentator in all of the sports by far. And I watch a lot of different sports.

Of all the people who call Rockets games, BULLARD is the one you take issue with?

Bull is one of the best hometown color commentators on TV right now, and EASILY the best Rockets commentator. He's funny/sharp, he understands stats, and he's well spoken. Drexler and Worrell both have far more issues than Bull.

This, I listen to the away broadcast just so I won't have to hear the same thing over and over again. Variety is the spice of life. Plus, it's nice to see how other people view our team.

I like Matt but I disagree with his take on calling charges on pass offs.

If you don't call that and the guy that charged and passes it off gets the ball right back the defender is in a poor position to recover and play defense or get a rebound.

I really don't get where he's coming from on that.
