They are relying on some huge games from Kawhi recently to eek out wins. Gasol, Parker, and Manu look washed up out there. The one advantage the Rockets would have in the playoffs over the Spurs is that their only old guy on the roster is Nene and he plays well in limited minutes. The thing about the Spurs is that they don't beat themselves. If the Rockets ever cut down on the foolish turnovers(Harden MUST stop with the lazy touchdown passes!), they can win these close games.
They look gimpy homie and even young Simmons looks shaky after he started the season so well. Only even contributions they can count on is LMA, Kawhi and Mills and funnily enough David Lee. .To my eyes Gasol looks slower then normal and despite his fluke game Parker is done. Spurs are there to be had.
Mills and Green missed some open looks in the 4th last night, so the Spurs could've played better too. But they're only gonna go as far as Kawhi and Aldridge take them. Last year, they folded in the 2nd round against the Thunder.
He's 31 now and in his 11th season. Maybe the mileage is catching up with him. It also helped that the Rockets doubled Aldridge when he tried to back his way into the paint. McHale would've single covered him all night no matter how many consecutive shots he hit.
Call me what you want but I knew Anderson would be a waste of money. Save all the crap about how he opens up the floor for harden, I couldn't care less about that garbage narrative. Paying 20 mil a year to a guy who you KNOW won't be there when it matters most whether it be due to injury or just plain disappearing like he did last night before he got hurt... I felt this way the second I heard about this signing that it would look good in theory but ultimately hamper our chances to win a damn ring. I'd rather have traded for Patrick Patterson to come back. We'd have the same record IMO with a hell of a lot more cap space and flexibility moving forward.
Here's how the refs can shave points. One very obvious one was when Harden was fouled on a 3 pt attempt (I believe in the 4th Q) Shot goes up, bounces off the rim, and I believe it even hit the floor and players were fighting for the ball before the late whistle even blew. Everyone was seemed confused at the VERY late whistle But, consider this: The ref obviously waited to see if the shot was going in before blowing the whistle What's the difference? Well, if you blow the whistle right away, and the shot goes in, that's 3 and 1 (possible 4 pts) By waiting to see if the shot goes instead, you can shave a point. In other words, DON"T blow the whistle if he makes the shot. Let the foul go and just give him the 3 instead of the possible 4. The ONLY reason I could think of for the extremely late whistle was that the ref was waiting to see if the shot went in. They are supposed to blow the whistle as soon as the foul is committed. This one was obvious That being said, we beat ourselves. We executed poorly and they executed flawlessly down the stretch. That's what good teams do
I was thinking the same thing moments ago right before I looged on and saw your comment...that 2nd qtr was total BS
That's the first game all year Parker made 3 three-pointers. Last year, Parker also only had 1 game of 3+ threes. In 2015, he had just 3 games. In 2014, he had 0 games of 3+ threes. In 2013, he had 1 game of 3+ threes In 2012, he had 0 games In 2011, he had 0 games ugh
The Spurs played as well as they can play and we still should have despite not being at our best. Our upside is huge.
Did you watch him at all on defense? I did, and he was hustling like crazy, doing more than most can. When he comes out our defense is downgraded enormously. His offensive game is not good though, and he doesn't average many pts a game. He has great games, but he has many that are sub par. It would be great to have someone with his defensive who could consistently make the 3's.
i m not angry. i did wanted rockets to bring me their scalp, but i have one from the memphis already. however, its not gonna last forever. i will be needing the one from jazz.
Better hope that Dekker doesn't start in his place and drop another 30 on a Western Conference rival.
Dekker was hitting bricks last night, so let's hope you are right. We need him to start hitting more shots.
I have to understand that almost everyone is basically an NBA player, and when you give an NBA player a wide open shot or space multiple times, any one of them has a chance of shooting well or going off because they will have confidence of not being heavily guard and take their time, like shooting in an open gym. Just remember Terrence Ross going for 51and Yogi Ferrell hitting 9 3s. Brewer is a borderline NBA player, but I remember he made 5s in Tornoto last season.
Don't you think every team guards Parker the same way on the perimeter. Yet he just had only his 6th game of 3+ threes in SIX years.
