Did Kawhi just take the MVP from Harden tonight?

Come on cash, everynight Ariza is checking the best player on the other team from the PG to PF, our defense doesn't give him any help. So pull up on Ariza, we need better schemes to help him slow down an on fire Kawhi.

Don't know what fyp means but I'm sure it doesn't mean you were vindicated and correct.

Kawhi having his best game of his career doesn't make him better than Harden nor the MVP.

It literally means his best possible game was slightly better than a good Harden game.

Lol people are so damn fickle and shortsighted.

    #RecencyBias

People aren't happy unless they are biitching about something, which is why SportsTalk and the BBS are more popular after losses. Everyone wants to whine.

Wow, good for you for being such a big fan. Although it shows me that the bias is too strong for me to get through to you. Facts just aren't enough.

A lot of fans self-loathing in this thread.

Was really bummed and disappointed how last night's game went and really wanted it bad for momentum for the Rox and Harden really. Was a let down especially of Harden started off the game. After sleeping on it, I still think Leonard set himself in the lead for the MVP last night. Leonard was a more worthy candidate before last night over Westbrook and after last night I think he has surpassed Harden. Kawhi really impressed and when it was winning time he made all the plays down the stretch. If Kawhi ends up winning it, I don't think Harden will be robbed of anything.

C'mon man...Kawhi has been playing like this all season. This was not just one good game. They are both great players but if you want a two-way player that could win the game for you defensively just as much as he could on the offensive end then Kawhi is your guy.

What bias? I have admitted multiple times how great Kawhi is and how great he has been this year.

But the fact is, last night was the beat game of his career. It was fascinating to watch as an NBA fan. Sucks it was against the rockets.

Another fact, Harden played a good game by his standards. Not his best or near it but very good.

Kawhi had a better outcome and very similar productive nights so he earns the better game nod because of the victory.

Kawhi best > Harden real good

    Hardens great/best >>> Kawhi best

I'm not bias at all but the MVP is a year long award.

    More like:
Harden's best offensive game > Kawhi's best offensive game
Kawhi's best overall game >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Harden's best overall game

I get why Houston fans like to forget that this thing called defense exists, but it does.

If Harden doesn't win this year he probably never will.

I get why you don't like to this this thing called playmaking and facilitating and like to pretend it doesn't exist, but it does.

And no last night Kawhis best game ever, both offensively and defensively, doesn't fuucking compare or sniff the snot to say... Hardens 50 point triple double from December, both offensively and defensively.

It's not even that comparable to be honest.

Last night was probably among the best offensive games in Kawhi's career. But defensively, not even close. And the gap between Harden's and Kawhi's playmaking isn't as big as the gap in their defense.

You're nuts. Give Harden to Popovich and he would mold a monster. Spurs have the best set of forwards in the league, a HOF coach, and experienced championship caliber players who know who they are and how to win. Kawhi is awesome but he has more around him than Harden has EVER had in Houston.

If you add Harden next to Leonard, then yes. It would be a monster. If you replace Kawhi with Harden, that team is worse. Perhaps not significantly, but it's worse.

James has been playing fine defense all year. His defense this year is around average, and a massive step up from last year. He brings the ball up all game and creates the most points for his team in the entire league. He creates significantly more points for his team than Kawhi and has much more responsibility on the offensive end. You cannot expect for James to play anywhere near Kawhi level defense when he has ridiculously more responsibility on the offensive end.

Plus, Kawhi only guarded James in the 4th quarter. It's not like he's locking down the best player all game. It's impossible to play at an elite level on both ends all game.

I will grant you that Harden needs to improve his focus and execution during key moments in the game. He had some turnovers that were jsut unacceptable at some crucial moments. But to say that he doesn't even try on defense this season, and especially that game, is just simply false.

    20 games left.

This game will be forgotten about.

Harden still showed out last night.

    It won't.

Remember the Harden lost his MVP to Curry? The next season he sulked and the team sucked. Harden will make up some excuse about teammates and what I personally think is he will BAIL to LA to play with Paul George.
