This loss probably wouldn't matter anyways as we are sitting in the 3rd seed with no hope catching the Spurs and not likely dropping to the 4th. I am encouraged that we could hang close with the Spurs despite the bad calls. Come the 2nd round, we can uproot them
They did match it. That's why the game was so close at the end. It should have been Rockets ball with about 2.4 seconds left and a chance to win it. It isn't. Because the god damn NBA officials don't know how to make use of the multimillion dollar facility they built in New Jersey.
When the inbound happened at 10.6 and the clock says 1.1 ccccc hate is more than 8 seconds Rocket River
At that point, it's too late. Yes, it was a foul, but it made no real difference. The Rockets should have fouled long before that.
Good observation Regardless, the Rockets should've done better against a 3rdGame-4Night team. A team that already beat them 2 of 3 this season. Piss poor final 3 quarters and execution down the stretch.
It was a bitter loss for those of us at the game. My group and I yelled until we were hoarse and irritated everyone in our section. The Spurs fans sat on their hands the whole game and then let us have it after the game was decided. Pathetic. It was a tough game to lose, but it just makes me more motivated to see us beat them in the Playoffs.
I guess this is what happens when you win handfull of championship trophies..BS goes your way especially on your home court
I'm curious. In the last 3 minutes of the game, how many times were the Rockets called for a foul on the Spurs possesions? Cause I'm pretty sure it was every one.
Seriously, calling me a POS because I have a different opinion? I am sorry that I have higher expectations of the team - I am desperate for them to beat the Spurs, but I know going in, that more than likely we will lose, not because we don't have the talent, but because we don't have the mental discipline when the going gets tough. And THAT SUCKS - Great teams win games like this, good teams go...man the refs, or we got screwed, or they got lucky. GREAT TEAMS MAKE THEIR OWN LUCK - we still have work to do to reach their level, we are not there yet....and that pisses me off. We have the horses, we just don't have the mentality. DD PS. The refs make mistakes, but they make them on both sides, what you CAN control as a team is your OWN mistakes, that is where we lost this game.
"The common conclusion is that MDA is a better in-game strategist than McHale I'm not so sure on that. MDA relies a whole lot on predictable set rotations no matter the game action, and REMOVING critical DECISION making over possesion-by-possession adjustments. Its if the current lineup isnt doing it, then the next preset lineup will make up for it "when the 3's fall". I DO NOT LIKE OVER-COACHED teams actually. So a "lets the players figure it out" is okay by me. But in THIS game, Harden shouldnt have sat out more than 2 minutes. Should have let him go "Westbrook" here. And there's no sense of SITUATIONAL offense change. McHale would ride a hot hand or a hot lineup. MDA it doesnt seem to matter, he's gonna ride his starters and go same short bench.
