I've always heard, now I might be mistaken, that a short purvis isn't really a deal breaker as long as it's wide and you can bang the **** out of the walls?

I also originally became a Rockets fan because of Tmac. Started off as a Penny fan as a kid, took a year or two in Phoenix when Penny was there and the Magic were no names, then was a huge Magic and Mcgrady fan, then became a huge Rockets fan when Tmac was traded and have been a huge Rockets fan since. Yao overtook Tmac as my favorite player and now its most definitely Harden.

I gotta be honest, I was as big of a Tmac fan as there was, but I started becoming less of a fan as his career continued in Houston. I'm actually shocked people prefer Tmac over Harden.

I think its pretty simple, when it comes to skill level, Tmac is no doubt up there with some of the greatest, but the dude did not come through for any of his teams ever. Gorwing up a Tmac fan, I gotta say his NBA career had too many disappointments. People throw out excuses like he had injuries and crappy teammates, but the dude played for 15 years in the NBA, and was in a whole bunch of first round playoff series. Should have come through once at least.

In a way, it is sort of similar with Cousins in that when are people going to stop blaming everything but the player himself. However, Tmac did lead his team to the playoffs most seasons, and lead some teams to great regular seasons, so tinman that's a little harsh to liken him to Cousins. But in the end, when the competition was at its highest, he wasn't as mentally tough and lacked the intensity of other stars leading their teams.

Good post. I feel like Cousins doesn't quite understand what leadership is about. He hasn't turned that corner on believing he'll make everyone on his team better. At some point you have to think you're a teacher when you're that good and I don't think he's accepted that. Hopefully he does when he signs with Houston.

swyyyguy is a huge Mavs fans and likely only here because nobody cares about the Mavs and they basically have no internet community presence.
