You joking right? Dream MVP season at age 31 was 10.5/reb 3.3 blocks per 36. Dream's best was season was 1990-91 13.4 reb and an amazing 3.9 blocks. 5 blocks per 36 isn't happening. Clint will never be half the player Dream was but Clint is a serviceable center in this offense when on the floor. In 136 games he's at (12 R/36) (2.2 B/36) at the ripe old age of 22. I say we give him more time. 136 games vs elite competition when his previous experience was vs French league players at age 18... more patience. I doubt he'll ever be 15 R per 36 but he could get to logging 30 minute a night next year at 2.3 million and grabbing 13.5R/36 while improving his shot and defense to help us with a title run. For those scoring Sanders, since this a Sanders thread he is 28 years old with a career 233 (10.4r/36) (3.3b/36) Drummond/Howard/Whiteside/D.Jordan only 4 in the NBA with currently greater 15rb per 36. Nobody is close to 5 blocks this year. For me on Sanders In Morey I Trust, but I have been saying after the Royce BeWell debacle I think Le$ is done with knuckle-heads that don't love to play basketball so I doubt Sanders is a Rocket.
Yeah I forgot he wasn't playing with a full deck. I guess a workout won't tell you whether or not he got his crazy under control.
Sanders is two years removed from professional basketball. If we sign him I hope everyone sees it as more of an audition and an option rather than him being our savior. There is no guarantee he can return to form.
Sanders is the type of dude that if a guy like zbo takes a swipe at harden on a hard foul sanders is gonna go get up in his grill. Sick of seeing bev and Ariza having to be that dude. Don't blame Clint though. It would be like stepping to your father. Dude younger than some of the chicks at my high school
http://www.cleveland.com/cavs/index.ssf/2017/02/cleveland_cavaliers_tyronn_lue_6.html "I just think it's his mindset," head coach Tyronn Lue said when asked whether Sanders can ever get back to being that player. "I don't think his talents went anywhere. Being able to block shots, run the floor, being athletic. I don't think that's going to change. It's just a mindset of, 'Does he really want to play the game and does he still love it?' If his mindset is right, he can definitely still play." 2/22/17 If he can play 75% like he used to, the Rockets need to sign him ASAP.
Thats the best part! He really doesnt have to do anything but rebound!!! We have our Batman (Harden) and our Robin (Beverly ) and his Teen Titans (All other Rockets). But I just know with him and Harden on the pick and roll he is bound to get some easy buckets thats would be just a plus....Theres would be nothing to lose to sign him, only something to gain.
like others have said, we can't expect miracles at this point, but at least get him in and just have him rebound and block shots if possible. sign him to team option for next year and hope that he gets his game back during the summer. no risk really. if it doesn't work out, we can just cut or release him. no problem.
So we really think Les, a huge animal rights activist and advocate, is going to pay a guy who's received multiple citations for animal cruelty? The ******* chained his German Shepherd puppies outside with no food, water, or shelter in the middle of January in Milwaukee.
Give him the DMo deal with team options every year and let's see if he wants it bad enough to hold onto his roster spot....
I'd rather give Kendrick Perkins a chance. We need another Vet on this team. We also need size. Stop looking for tweeners Morey.
He played really well for the Bucks for more than a few seasons? He was better than average? He has personal problems that made him leave the game not his play. He rebounds and plays defense & get his points off hard work under the basket but he can also play above the basket, too blocking shots... He is a 28 year old exNBA player that that has be healthy everywhere less his personally life. He is not a reject. Drug addict --> Yes Reject --> No Remember we have John Lucas on our staff to really help him; not only as a player but a person and a family member ( yes he is sick and needs help. It could work ONLY IF LARRY IS READY TO WORK ) only LS knows if he willing to admit defeat and restart his career. The real question is do the Rockets really want to trust a drug addict?
We already have a player like Sanders on our team in Capela. For any other team Capela would be averaging 30+ minutes, 18 pts and 10 boards with 2 blocks a game. With his improved shooting % I am not sure why he doesn't go 30 minutes more often. We always seem to have a good +/- with him playing. 2016/17- Capela per 36: 18.8 pts, 11.8 rbs (3.8 off rbs), 1.3 assists, 2.1 blks 2014/15- Sanders per 36: 12.0 pts, 10.2 rbs (4.1 off rbs), 1.4 assists, 2.4 blks. Biggest stat: Sanders avg'd 4+ fouls/gm in only 21 minutes, Capela 2.7 in 24 minutes. And these stats were when Sanders actually was active in playing. Sanders will not be joining our team. If he did, he would get Ennis/KJ minutes.
I didn't know this, but knowing this now, 100% against it. I dig more into the story, the guy is not living in the real world. He is Royce White with talent.
Bloodwing & Harock drug addict do odd thinks. Another Capela would help our team so much so it would push up to the upper tier teams
