FWIW Christ also was cool with slavery and drowning people. Plus this and all the other ****ed up text you can find in any part of the Bible New Testament or otherwise.

You better cut off one of your eyes if you're ever caught looking at a woman too long. Christian God wants that from you. But that's taking the text too literally. Apparently this is a tough thing to grasp for the dumbasses that treat the Quran literally too.

Christ condemned a lot of people actually. Do you even read the Bible?

Civilization improved for a few hundred of years during the "Islamic golden age". There has been a decline from that height, but if you take that as criteria for evil, you can call many other religions that has declined from their height as evil.

Pop Francis just two weeks ago spoke about that it is better to be an atheist than a hypocritical Christian.I do agree this applies to all religions, if someone doesn't get the basic principles then better to just not use religion as a convenient excuse tunnel to justify personal's ill means

So, how have your conversations with Muslims gone? How have they responded to your assured sense of religious understanding?

Or are you just posting anonymously on the Internet because it's easier than speaking with people and saying such things to their faces?

Edit: you also edited out my comment about the worldwide Islamic population and have yet to answer, constructively, what should be done about this faith that seems to have infected so many minds. What do you propose to for the 1.6 billion people who believe that Muhammad is a prophet of God?

I say all of this as a Christian who rejects the idea that Muhammad was the final messenger of God. However, I also say it as somebody who questions and doubts, every single day, the veracity of "one true faith" when I consider how many devout believers of other faiths exist on this planet. I do not think that categorically calling the religion of 1.6 billion people - a faith which is a guiding principle in many of their lives - "evil." People are evil. Our motivations are selfish. And ultimately, no matter the holy text, God left us with millennia-old parchment corroded by the manipulations and motivations of men.

Keeping that in mind, I do not think that the best way to approach anybody in a sincere attempt to change their beliefs is to say "You and everything you believe are wrong." But, that's just me.

Damn, my original response got trolled so hard by SpaceGhost and now it went in the completely wrong direction.

My point was that far right ideologies are similar to radical Islamists and that that is very ironic. The second point I made is that a true Christian should denounce far right practices the same way they denounce radical Islamic practices and that that is a contradiction.

Middle America has become so dumb. Becoming entitled, lazy, ignorant, and uneducated are really the biggest failings of being American. These Trump supporters have let themselves become manipulated into fear and anger. He doesn't fight for you and neither does the right. They manipulate you into making more money for them. Congrats.

The Quran and Hadith also have some feel good rhetoric for women such as a Hadith that goes along the lines of "The entrance to heaven is at your mother's feat". Again, it doesn't matter as overall it's extremely mysoginistic as is the Bible.

Then your understanding of psychology is even below the threshold of what would constitute 'layman'.

God preached violence. Why should the Old Testament be dismissed? Did God all of a sudden change between the Old Testament? Was God wrong in the Old Testament? I mean, that's a pretty damning thing to think.

A silly, ridiculous thing to say for someone that knows nothing about the religion.

Ridiculous, stupid, absolutely mind-numbingly dumb. It's one thing to say that religions are problematic with their set-up. But evil? And that you think it's possible to convert them from Islam? Wow.

She told The Local, “I know that violence is part of the Muslim culture. Most of the violence is against women. It’s a shame that some people are using it as an excuse to beat or even kill out of religious purposes. Every religion can be peaceful if you really understand it.”, she told The Local.

This is her actual quote. Doubt. Anyone actually read the article, fake news.

You would make a great religious pastor. Take a piece of text and twist it to your interpretation.

Dur dur dur Christ supported slavery because he did not encourage violence by getting the slaves to revolt.

Being a liberal shouldn't equal being an Islam-apologist.

Christian-based society has long undergone reformation and the Age of Enlightenment. Therefore it is not equal to Islamic societies of today. Those who compare show complete and utter stupidity, and do liberalism ZERO favors.

When I watch the Bill Maher show, it seems like when he says something critical of Christianity there is loud applause and cheering, when he says something critical of Islam there is only moderate clapping and no cheering.

It's a lot like that here, too. For some CF members, they can only criticize Islam indirectly by criticizing all religions, or someone will inevitably rush into an Islam-critical thread to immediately begin being critical of Christianity.

Western values are only accepted in Western countries and places like the US, Canada, etc.

Sure in the Middle East and hardcore Muslims here that have to abide by the Quran strictly because then you would hear about how a Muslim woman gets put down every day
