Cutler is going to be a starter. Very few of these rookies are ready to start and there is a long line of teams that need QBs. It might not be a long deal but he is going to be a starter.
Sure, but will he be paid starter money? I'm not so sure about that. I could see him being a starter making backup money.
I was asking for Cutler during the season. He'd be better than Romo. Younger, not as injury-prone. Go for it.
Supply and demand. There could be as many as 10 teams looking for a QB this summer with only 3-4 "good" prospects in a very weak QB class. Like I said, it just takes one team to overpay.
I'm good with either Cutler or Romo, as long as we still draft a QB. Because that means we can draft one in like the 2nd-3rd and get OT in first. I want Bowles bad. it might be Boles, dont feel like looking it up.
At this point I'm on the sign Romo if the deal is good train and then pick between Savage/Osweiler as your backup and dump the other. Use a draft pick to pick someone you see potential in to groom while Romo+Oswevage hold the fort and keep you competitive. You could sell me on a lottery ticket drafting of Mahomes, Kaaya, Peterman, Watson, etc.
I don't know if it's just me or not, but for me this has been the most boring off-season/combine in recent memory.
I don't see why anyone is excited about Cutler or Romo. Cutler has been hurt 3 of the last 6 seasons and Romo has played 5 games since 2014. I'm sure either would be better than what we have, but neither excites me like the thought of drafting someone who could end up being the next great quarterback. The only way you end up with a player like that is through the draft. I would give anything to see us take a chance on a draft pick like Pat Mahomes, who could be one of those type players. He won't be around in the second round, and probably not even when we get our first pick, but someone like him could end up making a lot more of an impact than one offensive lineman. Build up our offensive line rounds 2 and 3, and go for someone exciting. We will have lots more money to spend in a year if we need to pick up some talented free agents who could make our offensive line like a steel curtain.
