"Jokic intentionally plods. “I like to slow those guys down,” he explains, “and get them at my pace.”" http://www.si.com/nba/2017/02/08/nikola-jokic-denver-nuggets-the-joker-serbia-darko-milicic
per Rotoworld: Jokic and Plumlee have played together for just three minutes in the last two games combined.
Jokic and Plumlee combined for 15 assists last night. Jokic played only 15 minutes, Plumlee only 23. It was a blowout game against the Nets.
Yeah, I saw that game. Both had more assists than Lin. Plumlee with the near triple double in only 23 minutes. 12-12-8 While the 15 + 23 = 48 minutes looks like Jokic and Plumlee never played together, they did some in the 2nd...and probably would have again had it not become a blowout. fwiw: Denver went on a 20-6 run when Plumlee came in in the 3rd to blow the game open. Impressive how he can settle-in facilitating so fast on a new team.
I see the Marc comparisons, but what about the better brother comparisons? Have we forgotten Pau's game? He's been doing it for 15 seasons. Let's just say he's like if there was a middle brother between Pau and Marc. A mix of both of their games and body types.
Imagine how good he could get if he takes the offseason to work on his game and get his body better .
Indeed, who is he going to be when he's peak Jokic? An answer which routinely redefines itself darn near every time this guy takes the court without another star on his team. You can sit back and say we didn't see THIS coming. Fine, we didn't. But...didn't we though? The comps were there for all to see but all some could see was he's white, slow, and International The only trap was is he a Shareef or Elton Brand type and will he deliver when it matters? Check. Well, I still picked Embiid ahead of him so I guess I did sell him short afterall.
