Kevin Durant injury: grade 2 MCL sprain + Tibial bone bruise

I'm not happy about the injury but I am happy a team with one of the best records in history gave up all their depth and chemistry to add a top player and aren't able to withstand an injury Like this.

That's why you don't fix something that is not broken.

So I feel bad for Durant but glad that a rival team put all it's chips on him staying healthy and weren't foreminded enough to withstand the possibility of a major injury

 

But they have a much thinner bench compared to last season. Without Durant, Iggy would probably have to start. Then you've got Livingston, Barnes(who was just signed), West, McAdoo, and McCaw as your reserves. The starters will have to play heavy minutes cuz that bench is not gonna bury teams the way the Warriors used to in years past.

This would make the Lou Williams trade look even more brilliant in retrospect if Durant is out. Imagine what the Rockets reserves would do to the Warriors, especially if Gordon can find his shot again.

They still kept their two best bench players and added west. They will also get calderon. I don't think their bench is all that much worse.

While they're still favorites without Durant, they just don't have the quality in depth from last few seasons with the batter Barnes (Harrison) and Bogut.

Take your time Durant, hopefully you make it back once the Warriors a re out

 

Durant is one of my favorite players and people in the NBA. I hope he recovers quickly.

I'm indifferent when someone I don't know gets injured. So why would I not be ecstatic when somebody I don't like gets injured?

Nonsense. It's not like last year's team could have withstood an injury to Curry either, or that Cleveland could withstand an injury to Lebron, etc. When you lose your best player, it's going to a be a huge problem, no matter how much depth you have.

That would still mean he'd be out for 6 weeks. And that's assuming he's back for the beginning of the playoffs.

 

Yikes, KD going be out for awhile. Really about see what the Warriors are made of. Curry and Klay been looking lost since KD came.

 

Woj - All in all, good news for Kevin Durant and Warriors, team says: Sprained MCL, bone bruise. He will be re-evaluated in a month.
