With our next six games coming against quality teams, this is concerning. If we say we're a championship contender we can't be doing silly things like not boxing out and committing unforced turnovers.

DMo and Rubio fix those issues. DMo is undoubtedly the best in the league in boxing out by all metrics and Rubio is a very efficient playmaker.

In case he's like the bogeyman, let's refrain from calling unwanted attention shall we?

Every team fails to box out and commit turnovers though its not like the rox are the #1 in turnovers and #30 in rebounding.

We knew interior D and rebounding were going to be issues. That's the compromise you make when you go into the season with Capela and Nene as your primary bigs. One is too young, raw, and weak, the other is too old. Why do you think we have been interested in bigs forever. Problem is, to get a quality big, we have to gut a good part of a team that is oozing chemistry out its ass. To get a serviceable big requires the favorites for the ring not wanting them. It's a simply matter of figuring out odds.

I agree with lovermanbuda's post. Capela is not bulky enough or experienced enough yet to handle inside duties. He might block a shot on occasion. Nene does a little better job on big opposing centers, but I think Towns exposed that issue last night. I couldn't even keep track of how many times they got put backs.
Nene's a little aged, but he's a smart vet. On offense, he moves good without the ball and often gets open slams. Harrell is still young and lacks height.
We could have ran them out of the building by 25+ pts if we didn't have big man issues. We put up 141, but gave up 130 to Minn. I think the only way we beat GS, SA, and CLE in the playoffs is if the 3-pt shooting is crazy good.

LOL Rockets win by 12 and Harden led this team with 35 mins, 24 pts, 10 assists, 10 FTAs, 5 made 3s, tied with Capela with 5 def rebs, 2nd to Capela in total rebounds plus 2 steals and a block then you cry and whine about his lack of effort while phrase everyone else who has done less than him?

It was not just him, but yes and I expect more out of him just like with T-Mac. We know he can do better which is why it frustrates me. He was solid on offense, but at some point we going to need him to care about defense more. In the play-offs, that defense by our whole team will not get us far so if you are happy with your leader not stepping up on that side, be my guest. I care.

FYI, James Harden's defense for this season is at par with teammate's PBev and Ariza

    also at par with

    Jae Crowder
    Hassan Whiteside
    Giannis Antetokounmpo
    LeBron James
    Wesley Matthews
    Dwyane Wade
    Dennis Schroder
    Paul George

you honestly think the guys listed above never blew a single defensive play during the season?

Twolves have a decent couple athletes and a defensive minded head coach. They boxed out. They got boards.

    And they lost.

Twolves put out for that defense and executed a good offensive gameplan. And they lost.

Twolves have a top caliber big man, wing players. And they lost.

Get on board. When you score more points than the other team, you win.

    • The Rockets were outrebounded 58-31. They had not been outrebounded by that much in a win since San Antonio hauled in 33 more rebounds in a Rockets win in January 1992. They don't expect to make that a habit.
    • The Rockets allowed 68 points in the paint, giving up 29 second-chance points. Only the Los Angeles Lakers allow more points in the paint per possession than the Rockets, immediately pointing to the area in their 15th-ranked defense they want to improve.
    • "Getting back on defense, sometimes we 'buddy run,' " D'Antoni said. "You don't get the defense set quick enough and then you have to react.
    • "We're not great defenders, per se. But we can be good team defenders. They have to understand (the importance of) five guys' effort all the time. When we don't, then something breaks down and we struggle."
