Unbelievable nobody gave love to Reece Gaines. Jermaine Taylor. Eldridge Recasner and my fav Sedalle Threatt
I said this months ago and honestly I'm a little disappointed in morey for thinking this was a good option. Players only choose a team other than the top title contenders if they get passed on
Don't buyouts have to be completed by tomorrow in order to clear waivers and be signed before the 2nd?
I think there were benefits to the KJ and Ennis trades beyond just hoping they get the very best buyout guys, especially if you believe that both (1) no team was going to give up an asset for KJ and (2) the Rockets were not going to pick up KJ's team option. Whether it's taking the Warriors' and Cavs' "leftovers" or just planning for the future by signing players on the cheap to multi-year non-guaranteed deals or even keeping room open for draft-related trades, the Rockets can possibly improve their overall position in the grand scheme of things by having made those trades. For purposes of playoffs eligibility, I believe they just have to be waived (as opposed to CLEARING waivers) by March 1.
How about 7'6"? 13th longest wingspan ever recorded in the NBA Mamadou Ndiaye - 2012 8' 1" Alexis Ajinca - 2007 7' 8.75" Saer Sene - 2006 7' 8.5" Rudy Gobert - 2013 7' 8.5" Michael Olowokandi - 1998 7' 8" Boban Marjanovic - 2009 7' 8" Shaquille O'Neal - 1992 7' 7" Hassan Whiteside - 2010 7' 7" Alonzo Mourning - 1992 7' 6.5" Eddy Curry - 2001 7' 6.5" DeSagana Diop - 2001 7' 6.5" Brendan Haywood - 2001 7' 6.5" Larry Sanders - 2009 7' 6.5"
@BimaThug thanks for clearing up the "waived VS clearing waivers" by March 1 deadline. Was wondering about that.
I believe the team may try to use one of its open spots to get a backup PG in light of the groin injury to Bev. While Bev played last night and is basically "day to day" those things can flair up at any moment especially given the way Bev plays (granted I have no idea the severity of the injury). Lou could be that backup PG if he learns the offense but he is a score first and second type of guard. But I think Lou would be able to learn if no other PG is brought in. Personally I think the team needs more of a wing player (that at least shoots at 35% from 3) or rim protector. But the 3 guard lineup off the bench has worked so far.
Would nene and bogut share minutes in the playoffs? Is one more deserving of more minutes than other?
I'm not really sure about how MDA would manage that, i guess it'll depend on the match up, againt Memphis/Utah/Clippers we would see more Bogut, and against Spurs (if/when LMA doesn't play the 5), Warriors, OKC more Nene...maybe? Aside for the match up i think it would also be good insurance though, Nene has always some minor injuries and needs rest sometimes, but it's not like you can rest him in a playoff game so...
So we're going to give starter minutes to a guy that has missed over half the games already this season?
Houston and Cleveland will offer him a significant role... Cleveland would probably be the more ideal fit for him. Can't underestimate Morey though. He can be convinced to sign on Houston. Houston can flatter any guy.
Same here, but Trez needs to work on his shot if he wants to have a single chance to be a starter in this league going forward...as a 5 he'll always be a bench guy. But if he can become a decent/good shooter he may have a chance to be a starting 4 in the future. The form of his shot is good, if he'll work hard i think he can do it.
