Honestly, if George is available, I'm willing to quit on this season and trade every single valuable piece we have minus Harden and fill the roster with nbdl guys the rest of the season till we can re-tool in the summer. Are you kidding me? Harden and George? Unfortunately, chances are slim. The Lakers must be offering #3 right now and Pacers are waiting on Celtics to see if they will cough up #1. I think the Celtics are stupid to not trade their BKN pick for him (if they have been given that option). Who did they think they were hoarding these assets for? How much better than George is the best player in the draft going to be? How long will that take? What if they don't get the best player?
We don't have the assets to beat the Celtics or Lakers if they really offer up good packages. However, I don't think the Lakers can trade this year's pick right now because it is potentially owed to someone else. They have to wait until the season ends for their pick obligations to get settled.
A guy who's never played in the NBA and has repeatedly stated he's content to never play in the NBA is not an asset.
Rockets still own his rights. If Todovoric (sp?) is going to be listed then so should Llull. The guy has been the MVP and champion of his league, that equals asset to me.
We don't have the assets is relative. I bet we could land Minny's #6 pick and Pekovic right now for Capela, Dekker, Ariza, Beverley and a 2019 first rounder top 10 protected. If you then offer #6, Anderson, Gordon and Harrell for George + the contracts of Ellis and Jefferson... do they say no? The chances that a player as gigantic as George pries loose is worth sacrificing a season imo. I would literally be willing to surround George and Harden with 13 nbdl guys till the summer if it came down to that. These opportunities don't come up often.
Took a quick nap what did I miss any codman or cyber update or any info? And could we really possibly get PG13?
He's never won in the NBA and doesn't want to compete in the best league despite being offered repeatedly FOR YEARS! I question his mental make up as far as being a NBA difference maker. MVP in his league could equal NBA bench warmer and that's what he's afraid of. He doesn't want to compete with top NBA players for top NBA money so he's not an NBA asset. He should stay in the league where he's a big deal and a MVP. Good for him but don't tell me he's an NBA asset.
