Without Brewer, we don't beat Clippers. Harden played like chit so Smoove and Greyhound to the rescue. Either way, good riddance.

Does this trade make Gordon expendable this summer during free agency? Gordon has been a beast, but Williams seems objectively to be a better sixth man and only makes $7M next year vs Gordon's $13M. Williams even hits a higher percentage from downtown, albeit on much lower volume. He also draws a ton of free throws and is more efficient overall. Are we really going to keep a four guard rotation with one MVP caliber player and two sixth men of the year candidates?

Unloading Gordon to a team that needs him like Philadelphia would give us the cap space necessary to offer Gordon Hayward a max deal. Even if he does the likely thing and returns to Utah, there are other targets that would seem to fulfill more pressing needs like Noel, Millsap, Ibaka, and Gallinari. I just don't see how we can keep both of these guys really. Their skillsets and positions are too similar.

For a long post the answer is quite short.

There's no way in hell were trading Gordon in the offseason unless for some reason the Cavs think a straight he for Lebron trade is beneficial to their franchise.

Pretty stoked about this deal... Giving up the first is tough but Lou can ball and we are going to be dangerous!

Now if we can get another rim protector and rebounder!?!?

No. Lou is going to be the primary backup PG and Eric the primary backup SG.This helps to limit Erics minutes and even rest him a few games here and there.

Agreed. I also expect many 3 guard line ups.

Maybe, but it looks like the Rockets are going all-in with the small-ball strategy this season.

Lou is going to be D'antoni's Barbosa in Phoenix on steroids. Lou is not only a terrific shooter but the dude can break defenses down at will.

That 1st at best will be anywhere from 27 to 25 spot. For us a team in the win now mode that really dose not help. We don't need anymore long term prospects.

Morey does it again! Can't believe our salary actually went down in the deal. Lou's a bargain at $7 million this season and next. Brew could never quite find the right blend here. No consistency. He busted his tail every minute he was out there, however. I'll almost miss watching him zip madly around the court. Almost.

With the addition of Lou Williams, that pick will probably be #28. This year's draft class is deep; but only in the top, and middle of the 1st rd. BTW, I thought an NBA team couldn't trade their 1st rd picks in consecutive years if that team only had one 1st rounder.

BTW, let's go get a big who can block, defend, & rebound. Let's make it hard for the Dubs and Spurs in the playoffs.

How do we split the minutes among Harden, Gordon, Beverley and Williams?

Lou can create, Eric can, but not as good as Lou. Most important is durability of Gordon which is why this is a steal. Now, Gordon can go back to just hang around the 3pt line and let Lou create space. Anyone that wears #23 got to have game.
