I don't like the Lakers, but I don't hate Magic. Far from it. He may succeed... I'm just not a current fan of hiring legends as team architects. As coaches I could be convinced, but I'm not so sure as the GM/Prez. Maybe I'm putting him into the Isiah Thomas mold too much.

I just look at what Daryl Morey and Sam Hinkie do and they're ahead of the game. I mean, if one of those guys ran the New York Knicks 10 years ago, do we think they would be the trainwreck they are today? Granted, ownership plays a big role, but if they had true control, those teams would be far, far better off today.

I don't think Harden is that interested in leaving Houston. If he was, then he would have never extended his contract especially after that abysmal season we had, he had every right to take a wait and see approach.

    I guess time will tell.

I'm so excited. This is going to be the biggest disaster in the league.

I mean...fine...not the BIGGEST disaster. The Kings are still in the league. But still!

Magic has been pretty successful off the court in terms of business.... but I'd rather go in a different direction for a GM.

We also heard Morey's comments about Dorsey, Thabeet, Flynn, Canaan, Brewer etc, judging multiple prospects wrong doesn't make one an idiot and it's extremely common.
Really weird how so many people here are trashing Magic because of a few comments, he hasn't even done anything yet.

Whether this succeeds or fails will depend on what being President means for Magic.

And that's the point. The best GM's in the league worked in the front office before. Magic hasn't worked in basketball operations at all, which is why this will probably not turn out well - for the Lakers.

So, Lakers failing to land Boogie was the final staw, eh?

Shaq's also been very successful with his businesses. How many teams want him running their operations?

Wouldn't be surprised if Magic called Bird up and asking him what would he want in order to get Paul George.
