That's confusing. They already have Myles Turner.

I'm afraid some teams are buying into the logic that the way to counteract small ball is big ball......that's ridiculous. Small ball emerged out of an era of big ball...it's already proven out. Big guys struggle keeping up with the athletic forwards and quick guards, and they can't make enough in the post to offset their cost on the offensive end.

myles turner isn't a back to the basket player. There's room for okafor if they choose to somehow go that route

Are you trying to saw the new look Pelicans could be serious contenders??

I'd agree there's room for Okafor... BUT don't think he moves the needle much. There'd be room for Cousins to move the needle, but Okafor is kind of ho-hum.

Kind of seems like desperation move to appease PG13.

The point is that you'll have to play them both 30 minutes a game to justify the cost, which means 10-15 minutes playing together. When that happens, you can bet a coach like Dantoni is going to roll out Anderson at the 5 and shoot them into oblivion.

If Okafor couldn't work with mobile centers like Noel and Embiid, how is he going to play with Turner?

It's not really a fire sale if you're asking price is a 1st Rounder for your role players.

Further, they are actually trying to tank Philly-style to keep their own Top 10 protected 1st, which makes their CHI obligation convert to a 2nd round pick this year (per BimaThug). I call bluff on that asking price.

    On Collison and McLemore
Morey won't give up his only 1st for an expiring Collision (rental), nor will he give up a 1st to get McLemore's RFA rights. Sounds like we just get outbid, and go after them in the summer, if we want them.

    On Koufos
As for Koufos....meh, he's a career <20 mpg player. There are over 6 different coaches (on 5 different teams) who have not considered him good enough to get 20 mpg. NO WAY is that worth a first rounder.

    And inb4 someone says he's a career double-double on a Per-36 minutes basis.

yeah probably. Im actually kind of surprised the T. young pickup hasn't worked out that well for them. There's good pieces there, just not clicking as well as it probably should.

Even Memphis and San Antonio have gone away from it, and they have arguably the best post players in the league.

Shooting....they don't have enough of it. And they are about to double down on non-shooters if they add Okafor.

i don't it's their offense so much as defensively is their bigger problem. They have enough that's good enough to be in the 100s. defensively is where they suffer

Larry Bird wants an open offense that the NBA has trended to. He didn't think Vogel could do it then gave the reigns to Nate McMillan.

    WHAT?!!??

Recalling his time in Portland he was more about defense than an open offense. I think Bird made the right player moves with Teague and Young. Turner is a great big who works the boards, can play the pick and roll and is a good rim protector. Maybe lack of shooters is part of the problem, but I think the bigger issue is McMillan. He has always been a defensive guy. and while defense WINS championships, in today's NBA your offense gets you there first.

    Cyberx in the N.Young thread.
"Young has a nice little list of suitors. Cavs, Wiz, Rockets, Grizz.

    Williams: Jazz, Wiz, Cavs, Miami

Lakers trying to get a first before the deadline to attach to a package for PG13/Butler."
