Sources: Rockets are heavily involved in talks to acquire a player(s) but nothing is close.

    • The Rockets, however, had been busy. According to multiple individuals with knowledge of trade discussions that ramped up around the league over the weekend, the Rockets had been heavily involved, as usual, in talks.
    • The Rockets have sought a deal that could bring one more player to the rotation, and particularly would like someone versatile enough to play multiple positions to help reduce the playing time of several key players.
    • Nothing was considered close because many teams open to dealing who might be considered "sellers" are proceeding cautiously while still in contention for the final playoff spots in both conferences. That could make deals more difficult, with teams ambivalent about sending out talent for draft picks. It seems certain to make them take longer.

Lol , Dubose with the most obvious statement of the year. KJ mcdaniels is more bitter than sweet methinks.
As bad as the article is. The note about versatility tells me that perhaps we value a 2/3 more than we value a big.... which makes sense. I figure if we are gonna win big , we are gonna do it off the strength of our guards and playing the spacing game. Sure, teams like Memphis and Clippers with their elite centers will be a problem, but we cant get anyone that would really tilt the odds that much. Our best hope is probably a rested Nene. On the other hand, GS and SA (the two teams) aren't that much bigger than us.

Look at how we beat GS this year. We were able to dominate the offensive glass with Dekker and Harrell.

I hate not knowing what's going on.
Morey always wait until the last minute of the trade deadline. I only hope we get significant better and a real tier 1 contender.

The Knicks have discussed adding Ricky Rubio in talks with the Wolves, Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com reports. Windhorst adds that Minnesota has had discussions with the Pistons regarding a Ricky Rubio-Reggie Jackson swap, but the Wolves are not interested in bringing Jackson aboard. A three-way trade that sends Rose to Minnesota, Rubio to Detroit and Jackson to New York could be in play, Windhorst adds. He notes that Rubio and Jackson are two of the players whom are most likely to be traded before the deadline.

Minnesota doesn’t necessarily view Rose as a long-term fit. It wants to clear space for Kris Dunn and would like to get out of Rubio’s deal. The Spanish point guard has three years remaining on his contract, while Rose will be a free agent after the season.

That's so bad, it's like what some guy who's never played basketball before would do during a YMCA game.

You took the words out of my mouth.

Morey is relentless.... but he can't turn turds into gold.

No one wants garbage like KJ or Brewer or Ennis.

Pablo Prigioni needs to hurry up and sign with someone so we can trade for him again.

LOL "We have zero inside information but we think the Rockets would like to trade for stuff that is like better than the stuff they have. The Rockets would like really good stuff that fixes their weaknesses. Like, we have zero real information so no trade is close to happening because other teams want better stuff too."

The current trade target could be a 2-3 like Nick Young or 3-4 like Wilson Chandler or Michael Kidd-Gilchrist (fingers crossed) but I hope a rim protecting big is still on Rockets radar.

Even if not via trade, like Larry Sanders.

Cod's free birds may be coming soon. Pels looking for guards to surround their new twin towers.

    http://bleacherreport.com/new-orleans-pelicans

With Pels auditioning Chalmers, Reggie Williams, Hollis Thompson, Quinn Cook (should have brought him in for a workout too), etc. then it stands to reason that players already on full roster will be bought out, stretched or given away. Rumor is that Asik is likely stretched and Ajinca will be given away (sweetened with 2nd round pick).

Asik and Ajinca could be had for handful of pesos afterward.
