Yes, I believe the Rockets could have beaten that offer, but we shouldn't have been able to. It's less about the Rockets having more assets than NO then it is about how horrible that package is for Sacramento. Stop obsessing about draft position. You know who was taken 13th two years ago? Devin Booker. Does he somehow have less potential that Hield because he was drafted that much lower? NO's pick is top three protected, so forget about getting a surefire thing. And the Pelicans are only 2.5 games out of a playoff spot and just got gifted Cousins, their pick isn't going to be that great. We got a better projected pick from Detroit for DMo last year, for crying out loud. This was a terrible haul for the Kings. Yes, Dekker won't be very young next year, he'll have three years of NBA experience by the time he's Hield's age. If he doesn't show something by next year, he pretty much is what he is. This is the NBA, where players age pretty fast and potential drops year by year. Is Malcolm Brogdon very young as a 24 year old rookie? Will Hield be an old man next year when he's Brogdon's age? I expect older players to be more seasoned just due to the experience edge they have over younger players. Brogdon has been great so far, but I attribute his good play so far to experience rather than any superstar potential.
Ya I was just joking around. I seen a picture of them both in University of Kentucky uniform on the sidelines. I looked it up and it seems that Cousins left at 2010 and Davis joined at 2011 but I am sure they met and talked at some point.
What's a better offer? Buddy and the #15 pick(probably where NO is going to end up) or Victor O and the #10 pick? OKC robbed Orlando. Why didn't Kings trade him to Orlando? OKC got a nice deal for a soon to be free agent that isn't close to Cuz. The GM seems pretty dumb in Orlando. Time to make calls, Murray
Exactly. WHen you're 23 years old, you're supposed to be polished already Like Brogdon because you don't have much upside
Still think it was a bad trade but if the Kings value Buddy that much then so be it. Hopefully it works for the Kings. Pelicans are a above average ball handler away from being scary. Seems like our division has consistently been one of the toughest for over a decade.
Vlade: Most likely get less if we wait until the deadline. Got a better deal two days ago. This was the best time & best offer we could get at this time. We want to move forward. We're not going in the right direction & had to do it. Lose more value [if we wait until] after the season. Better offer two days ago & this was as good as it gets & can't wait any longer? Exactly. Hield? Work ethic is what we want here. Energy. Try to improve his game & our team. Something we were looking for. Top 3 protected pick. What character do you want to see? [See] Game against the Celtics. What made this the best offer? Buddy Hield & another 1st round pick in a strong draft & start fresh.
Besides shady characters like DUI Lawson and Wife Beater Collison, let's not forget they also signed Matt Barnes for $12.5 millions this year. After 4 months, they realized Barnes wasn't a character guy
