If I want to create a law that prevents your daughter from getting raped then devote your energy to another law. This one literally would have no impact on that crime being committed.

No it's not. The NBA and NFL have no obligation to hold their national events in the state of Texas. They are taking anyone's money away - they are just not going to bring new money into the state.
