We need someone who can 'match up' with Durant, in the sense that he can defend him and make KD work on the other end Curry v. Harden Thompson v. Gordon Green v. Anderson (all defense vs all offense, it's a stretch I know ) Pachulia v. Capela Assuming we could deal for Chandler/ Gallo Durant v. Chandler/Gallo Iguodala v. Ariza Livingston v. Beverley Clark v. FA G (Jarrett Jack/Mario Chalmers) McCaw v. Dekker West v. Nene McGee v. Harrell I know some of these aren't the best comparison but as far as roles go? We need a team that can keep it close and when it's crunch time, make the right plays defensively and get in positions to take the best shot.
That's really unfair. Clutch and crew have done an excellent job of eliminating problem posters--including myself when I was one. Go to any other fan forum to see how much better this one is. The others are like ESPN comments sections, filled with cursing and hatred and bigotry. Could this site be better policed? Maybe. If Clutch was making a ton of money on it, which he isn't. Any site could be better policed. But this site is policed and administered with more care and effort than literally ANY other sports forum. This is an unfair knock on the people that make this forum as great as it (still) is.
I don't think swinging a deal for Chandler/Gallo and signing a vet PG is too unrealistic. We would have to lose a couple assets surely.
Which is what the ignore function is for. Place about 5 problem posters on ignore and the problem disappears pretty much entirely.
He's where he belongs. The Utah Jazz have always done an excellent job of keeping White Pride alive. I mean, seriously, how many years have they gone having more white players than any other team? 20? 25?
If you think Hayward is automatically going to stay in Utah, think again. He tried to leave to Charlotte as a RFA, but Utah matched. He has looked around.
Meh. I won't pretend I followed that specific story line that summer, but I'm pretty sure that was more a "let me get a max offer sheet" than "get me out of Utah". I mean, I don't think there is any chance he ends up here, it's Utah or Boston, but I never thought Wade would be anywhere but Miami this year so anything can happen. But since I feel that way I really hope we don't waste time seeing if we have a shot with him. If we don't trade for someone then I hope we just make someone like Millsap a priority (first day of free agency). We're not a sure thing with him, he may want more than the 20 mil we could probably clear for him (without giving anyone important up), but it doesn't sound like there is a favorite landing spot for him yet.
True. So he likes to play in white cities? Look out for the Pacers and Bucks. Rockets have no chance.
you're definitely right that metrics don't tell it all - especially on defense, as you pointed out. i haven't really watched Chandler since he left for China so numbers are all i have to go on. i'm just pointing out - none of his stats show any clear improvement over Dekker. Not steals, blocks, Net Rating, TO Ratio or any of the ones i listed earlier. The only argument is the "eye test" - ok, that's fair. For me, it's not enough for me to trade a 23 year old 6'9 forward with ball handling skills, shooting touch, athleticism, and a knack for hustle rebounds. I don't think Wilson Chandler will be a better player than Dekker by the end of the season, much less a year or 3 years from now. This is basically his 4th month of NBA basketball and he's already putting up "Wilson Chandler" type numbers.
Dude, why do you feel the need to post some kind of personal attack against me for relaying something I heard on a Denver radio station. Does it really offend you that much? Or does calling me a liar or trailer trash make you feel better about yourself? If so, then carry on buddy. Im happy I could help boost your morale. Hope you have a great day.
Fair enough argument. These posters are still making this place nearly unreadable half the time. Maybe I'm being a jerk, maybe I'm just a long time member who is venting about how, in my opinion, this once great website is being turned into a childish drama filled stink hole. It's just one guy's opinion. I still respect the people who come here for basketball reasons and I like Clutch but Im tired of reading for 3 minutes and then leaving for unbasketball related reasons.
They should just add a strip club in the locker room.. keeps harden at the TC longer. ( maybe he practices more) And it'll attract more players. Welcome to Houston Cousins/ KD
