That one dunk by the Suns guy from the side of the board with the left hand was pretty cool, but other than that we've seen it all, and it's been done way better. Gordon was just a gimmick, DJ can't dunk and Glen Robinson had some okay dunks, but this was by far the WORST slam dunk contest ever. By FAR!
It has been talked to death and on the boards it seems all agree: Kenny and Reggie just make an already bore fest of a dunk contest even worse with their constant back and forth, b****ing and moaning, non-stop talking. Just let us watch the freaking dunk!!! They stop right before a dunk and right after give their opinion about the score. Reggie's voice combined with Kenny's arrogance and know-it-all attitude just makes it unbearable. This is another reason why it will never be like the old days.
Bullsh**, there were a ton of worse contests. In 1997 the best dunk was a simple between the legs from Kobe. The contests that ended the current format and introduced that 1yr experimental format were also way worse. Also watch some of the first contests, the dunks were of far less difficulty. Honestly feel like most people here don't know anything about the dunks themselves, what GR III and DJ Jr. pulled off were very difficult dunks. GR III dunked over a nearly 7ft dude twice without touching him at all and completed flawless dunks at the same time. Jones had an amazing off the backboard dunk and the last one was tough to execute as well. DeAndre's 2nd dunk was of high difficulty, but yea, could've been a bit more powerful. Gordon was the only dud.
One of the worst if not 'The' worst Dunk Contest ever to be on live TV. That was cringe worthy, JESUS! Who are all these scrubs?
This is just my theory but had zach Levine been in it this year, I would imagine that everybody would have raised their game. There is something to be said for going against a legend like zach Levine. Zach not only breathed life into the dunk contest, he got the best out of the guys going against him. I don't think Aaron Gordon cared much about it this year.
3pt contest was fun. boring dunk contest. stop using props! just do your best dunks without them.geez.
